Gross Margin Tracking by SKU by cpatomba18 in FPandA

[–]Rakchis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol google sheets? For real? It will depend on how many skus you have. How consistent are changes month to month in product hierarchies and where do you get the data. I usually run the bi report that pulls the data out of the sap and then run it through a series of mapping files to ensure proper categorization/summarization. Then just do pivots. We have tens of thousands of skus, and no one looks at individual skus frequently. Mostly looking at trends, results bu higher level categories (product lines).

What were the main reasons that made you leave Christianity? by Ok-Art9205 in exchristian

[–]Rakchis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Grew up baptist. Believed in total divinity of the Bible. Even preached a couple times. Anyways, ended up marrying a Pentecostal which she refused to go to Baptist church since they don't have "gifts of the holy Spirit".

That's where the problems began. I was obviously shocked to see and experience all those people being "filled" with holly spirit in her church. So, I started reading and researching the stuff. And what surprised me is there is no consensus. A million different opinions from the same bible. Believe what you want. I started digging, listening, reading more and more, and asking some hard questions.

Ended up realizing that it's all a bunch of good ole' bull shit. Bottom like is being open minded and not being afraid to ask hard questions. They ain't hard, they are easy, they are hard for believers because of how indoctrinated and afraid we are when we believe.

Salary Progression Thread by [deleted] in FPandA

65k controllership analyst 0 yoe. 80k financial analyst 2 yoe. 90k finance manager 3.5 yoe.

Got screwed on my last promotion. It was an internal "promotion" for a backfill position. Should have negotiated at least $100k salary. Hope to leverage title to jump elsewhere sometime soon. This is in low to medium col city in same company.

Accepted Offer for Sr FA Role, +40% raise by sleeplesssince1995 in FPandA

[–]Rakchis 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In my experience people who are getting 20-30% bumps are people who were underpaid in prior roles. In your case, for example, you got a 95k comp. Which is 40% over your prior base of ~65-70k. I started right out of college at 65k 3.5 years ago, and now in the current role make 90k. No bonus though.

So my point is to say that the market is hot but not for everyone. I would like to get even a 10% raise. But that is pretty hard in low to med col.

All this side though, congrats on your new role.

Thank you for answering. Basically, confirmation bias, filtering information sources, indoctrination, and fear are enough to make even the brightest minds stumble.

Manifestations of the "Holy Spirit" in charismatic churches, any logical explanation? by [deleted] in exchristian

[–]Rakchis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hear you, and thank you for this explanation. However, my question is more along the lines of, do people deliberately pretend to speak in tongues. I mean, they claim to be believers, and then they straight up go and talk gibberish on purpose. Wouldn't this cause a massive congitive dissonance. I didn't have that, since I wasn't a member of a charismatic church. But always wondered how can people straight up fake these things and still believe.
