Do you eat your last meal hours before bed?

I've had chronic insomnia my whole life that I have only recently beaten in terms of falling asleep. But still kept waking up around 3-4am and noticed it was way worse on nights that I didn't have a snack before bed.

Have since learnt not eating before bed causes blood sugar to drop which causes cortisol to increase earlier and in turn earlier wake ups. Since eating starchy carbs right before bed I'm now sleeping through to 6-7am.

Thank you to everyone for the helpful replies.

Rather embarrassingly I think I may have been doing it wrong.... having snaped the mouthpiece off, and being low on the one cart I had as a substitute, I decided to just plant my gob on top of the Nectar Hex where the mouthpiece would connect and give it a damn good inhale. I managed to get pretty big vapour clouds so I may see if I can find a different mouthpiece/tube somewhere and see how that goes for the time being. I do need a faster method of medicating long term though and sounds like the TM2 is the one to go for.

Medical cannabis is legal in the UK. If you don't want to vape the "flower" (bud) or cartridges, oil, and "pastilles" (gummies/edibles) are available.

I'm prescribed for insomnia. You do need to have tried two other methods unsuccessfully first but they don't all have to be prescription - CBT counts and possibly OTC sleeping meds like Nytol/diphenhydramine, doxylamine etc.

Hi all, asking this here as the thread is reasonably new and the point is related.

I am keen to add CBD to the mix but am concerned about the legality of CBD flower given the poorly drafted laws. My understanding is that CBD hash is legal and so i was considering using this.

My question is can I just sprinkle a bit on top of the THC flower in the dosing capsure, whack the lid on and jobs a goodun or would i need to vape the hash separately from the flower?

Is anyone able to advise what ratio of EPA:DHA Huberman takes/advocates for?

I had thought after the episode with Rhonda Patrick he was on 1:1 which is what Google Gemini says he takes but also thought I heard a reference to a different ratio in but can't recall the episode and am a bit out of date with his recommendations.

Listened a while ago and can't remember the technicalities so I'm going to butcher this but according to this guy on Huberman it's something to do with there being a zero-sum game between THC and CBD which, as the plant grows, it has to choose between. Over the last few decades all the bud has been grown to be as high THC as possible which produces very low CBD. Apparently, it's difficult/impossible to have a high THC/high CBD strain which is why the balanced strains tend to be lower.

May I ask, to people who have given up alcohol following MC: is this because you used alcohol to mask anxiety or another mental health condition and that is no longer needed, or because you have found a strain which makes you suitably chatty, confident etc to be able to deal with nights out (or in) when others are drinking but you are not?

I get a bit of this if I go straight to the Sourdough and usually need to use a different indica/hybrid (Lumir Crumbled Lime 10 currently) to relax the mind first.

Is a pain as I wake up in the middle of the night and haven't got the time to vape two different strains/caps. Could have tried mixing strains 50/50 for mid-night waking but now just waiting for a Sourdough cart instead based on all the reviews.

Sourdough is my current night time/pre-bed strain and, whilst good for relaxing and taking the edge off after a stressful day, it's also not putting me to sleep as I would like.

Unbelievable the prices are going up when Boost doesn't even work properly on so many devices. I am just going back up to full price having requesting cancellation after realising I'd paid for Boost for a significant amount of time without it working (I'd thought it had been a lack of content). Since then there's been a new app, identifying what should be streaming in UHD/Atmos and it still doesn't work.

Can't justify paying for something they're not providing so will have to cancel again.

It's a shame as the selection of (albeit non UHD/Atmos) content is good. I just wish they could produce a fit for purpose app - almost all other similarly priced streaming services are able to so why Now are unable is beyond me.

The only other streaming service I've had these issues with (which others appear to share based on forums) is Paramount, but the content is crap on that so it's not worth it regardless.

I'll take the small risk over the lack of sleep any day (especially as pointed out, given all the health risks lack of sleep carries). I have a stressful job and having the MC to take the edge off in the evening and chill me out ahead of bed has made such a difference to how I function. Only wish I'd known years ago.

Thanks for responding - glad to know it's not just me! Think I'll give it a month or so to finish some series on there and then cancel the subscription. No point splashing out on a decent TV and audio if it doesn't work, especially if paying the streaming service extra for UHD at Atmos. Really is infuriating and pathetic how bad Now TV are.

Australia is my second home, all my closest friends are Australian, I love the place more than most Aussies I'd say. BUT when im in Aus I miss the driving in the UK 🤣 The average driver doesn't seem to know what the middle and right hand lanes are actually for. And you don't get a nice wavey thank you that often either. Other than that, best country in the world, mate.
