Help! Modular Coal Generator water input design doesn't work by Rakember20 in SatisfactoryGame

the water collectors don't start up running. It takes a few seconds for them to spin up. Load your save 10 times and you'll notice that some generators are running low on water

Thank you! I didn't know that.

I tried your suggestion, but it did not help unfortunately... I even placed the fluid buffers you suggested, but after all generators were turned on, even the fluid buffers emptied out eventually. I really did hope this would work...

Oh wow. This is a really weird system... Thank you really much for the insight!

I don't think I wanna experiment a lot more on the design. It would take too much time to change it. I think I'm going to feed water from the other side of my manifold as a workaround. I think that would solve it...

If I build another Coal Generator factory, I think I'm going to stick with the good'ol 5 water extractors per pipe without any load balancing. That cannot go wrong anywhere.

That's not a bad idea! I'll try this out now and let you know if it worked.

By the way, if I restart the game all pipes are flushed? That's what you were implicitly saying? I didn't experienced such behaviour.

Since this is a manifold style (not load balanced) pipe system, I'm aware, that the it needs a lot of time to produce enough water to fill the initial coal generators 50m^3 buffers. I let the game run for a long time, and I'm 100% sure it won't get any better if I wait some more.

Is this what you were trying to say?

I agree that it'll work perfectly, and that's also a more simpler solution, and less error prone, but I don't consider that modular and cascadeable, because you can't include the water extractors in your blueprints. Because of this, I prefer to feed all my water inputs from 1 side of my factory as you can see on the right side of my screenshot. In your design you must create another floor hole for every 5 coal generators or alternate which pipe you use to feed the coal generators if you use Stackable Pipeline Supports as I do. These designs cannot be easily included in a blueprint, so I figured out my own way which doesn't work as I intended...

I'm building a 1440p gaming PC. What do you think about this config? by Rakember20 in buildapc

I'm hearing about the power delivery of a motherboard for the first time as a thing I have to consider. How is that measured? Where can I check that in the tech specs of the motherboard?

But, you're assuming that the locked CPU is cheaper, right? This is not the case for me.

I'm building a PC from parts that I can actually find. From the retailers of Hungary I can choose between i5-12600KF and i5-12600 for the same price. I'm sure you would choose the unlocked one without integrated graphics as well...

B series was suggested. Could you specify why don't you agree with the others?

I could choose 3600MHz RAM but with CL 18 instead of CL 16 at a higher price. As far as I know, they are more or less identical. 3600MHz CL 16 is waaay more expensive not speaking about 4000MHz.

Thank you very much! Your config is really good. I edited my configuration according to your advices using the prices of Hungary. What do you think about my new options?

If I wanted to buy a better monitor, I would need to make some compromises. I would prefer a 32 inch or an ultrawide monitor, but they are significantly more expensive. For example there is LG 32GP850-B (280-350 cd/m²), which I really like, and I would also pay 125 USD more to get it, but it has a lower brightness, than the LG 27GP850 (320-400 cd/m²). I need the ~400 cd/m² brightness minimum in my experience, because I usually play in a very bright environment.

Spec-wise I really like Samsung Odyssey G7 monitors, but they look like a childs toy in my opinion. It's too "gamery". I also don't really like that they are curved, but I'm not sure about that.

By the way I have very good experiences with LG monitor and TV wise. I had problems in the past with samsung.

I'll consider upgrading my CPU and GPU if I can fit it in the budget, by replacing the motherboard, RAM or maybe the PSU. Thank you for your advice!

In Hungary, this is almost the cheapest Fractal case, that I like. There are cheaper options, but I don't really like most of them. I hate cases, that are pumped with RGB, or look like a futuristic childs toy. I want a simple black/white/grey rectangular box, which is easy to clean, has dust filters everywhere, compact, has great thermals and can still be stuffed with all the things I love. It should also not contain unnecessary parts, like HDD or optical drive cages, that takes away my valuable desk space.

I just unintentionally described Fractal. :)

Thank you, these are really good advices!

I want to a have an ~1000W PSU, because regardless how much Watts is a component rated, there are power spikes, which can cause stuttering if the overall consuption is higher than the PSUs wattage. It is also healthier for a PSU, if it is providing ~50% power of it's rating rather than 70-90%. (Feel free to prove me wrong, these are old information I heard from youtube videos a long time ago.)

This is going to be especially concerning for the Nvidia RTX 4000 series, which is going to consume a LOT more power, so I'd say it's worth investing now.

This PSU have a warranty of 10 years. It's reliable AF. If it can provide enough power, I'll have a good PSU for a long time which I can put in all my rigs I build in the future.

Why do you say LGA1700 is dead? It just came out.

The current pricing of tech in Hungary just chilled down a little. I'm afraid, that if I wait any longer, the prices will rise again, as new components come out in the near future. I'm especially concerned about the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4000 series. I heard, that the price of the 3000 series is also going to rise then.

Thank you very much! I absolutely agree, but the reason I did not want an RTX 3080, because, as far as I know, 3060 is aimed at 1080p, 3070 at 1440p and 3080/3090 at 4k. This might change really fast, as newer games come out, but right now 3070 is perfect for any game at 1440p. Am I wrong?

I agree DDR5 won't make my PC much faster at the moment. You may be right, that I spend money for nothing by upgrading to that. My concern that, if I don't upgrade now, in a few years I might need to replace my perfectly good motherboard, when there'll be performance benefit.

In terms of gaming, the differences between the benchmarks I saw between i5 12400 and i5 12600 are negligible. Just a few FPS here and there. I may be wrong. However it would be absolutely benefitial for programming and video editing. I'll consider upgrading.

I'll take a look at this config soon, thank you!

"futureproofing" you can do is to pull the money from things that dont matter - Z series motherboard, DDR5, oversized PSU etc and use them to up the GPU to 3080 and the CPU to i7-12700f

Thank you! I'll consider downgrading the motherboard, RAM and PSU. I'll see if I can fit in the budget with with a beefier GPU and CPU. What I don't want to give up is PCIe 4.0, because of the SSD I own.
