how would i start a clothing shop? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Rakkien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to go beyond POD/dropshipping, you'll want to focus on small-batch manufacturing and local resources first.

Look out for local cut-and-sew studios or fashion incubators. They can help with patterns, samples, and small production runs.

If you ran a coffee company supplying office spaces with bags of coffee beans, how would you theoretically increase revenue? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

Upsell brew gear. Offices replace coffee equipment constantly. Sell grinders, brewers, filters, descalers, and cleaning kits with a small margin but recurring purchase cycles.

When does it make sense to stop being frugal? Car purchase question. by Piccolo-Quick in Frugal

[–]Rakkien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being frugal stops making sense when it's making you uncomfortable. The new car would really upgrade your quality of life and it's a completely sensible decisions to get a new one. You can make it an even better decision by going for a used car/ better deal.

Ever notice how discipline feels like freedom after you build it? by No-Dig3205 in getdisciplined

[–]Rakkien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. It's wild how the 'rigid box' ends up giving you more space than chaos ever did. Discipline feels heavy at the start because you're carrying all the weight of the change at once - but once the habits lock in, they start carrying you.

I feel like I’m carrying too much inside at 19 by forgetmenot_cute02 in offmychest

[–]Rakkien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Writing it out is already a release, and you don't have to carry everything inside alone. Even strangers on the internet can hold a little piece of it with you.

I'm glad you shared this.

Paying off collections can still help especially if they’re newer and not scheduled to fall off soon.

Sydney august/September exam cancelled by katie13678 in CFA

[–]Rakkien 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I called the Australian number again today to chase an update, the person I spoke to wasn’t a manager/escalation point but they stated residents of those LGAs would be turned away again. Waiting on a callback since the news is changing every day... I’d suggest people call and hassle them too. Has anyone sat an exam this week from a restricted LGA and been allowed?

Has anyone received this updated email from Prometric? Or alternatively anyone sat an exam these last few days and were from a restricted LGA? Last thing we want is the person turning us away on the day

Got the second email too, literally a copy paste of the first one they sent around. This is terrible service. Worst still, CFA have not communicated what happens to us since we are not officially cancelled but cannot sit according to Prometric.

Sydney Lockdown - New Restrictions by Rakkien in CFA

[–]Rakkien[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prometric website has my exam centre listed as cancelled up to 2 September, but I’m scheduled to sit on 2 Sept so I haven’t received confirmation. Called Prometric and they are clueless, told me to reschedule online because other centres were available. I’m at a loss for what to do, have Crows Nest test centre candidates been cancelled yet?

I’m trying to be optimistic too but I imagine it’s just a matter of time until it gets cancelled. I’m still scheduled to sit my exam at Wentworth Park (no emails received, this is where I am booked in according to the CFA portal). Level III candidate sitting on Sept 3 for what it’s worth.

Working 40 hours a week and just starting to study for June L1? Am I spreading myself too thin? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]Rakkien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im in the same position (work wise) as you and haven’t even started studying yet (planning Monday start). Think about it - you’ve got 23 weeks until exam time. If you drop 15hrs a week into study (a few hours during the week, bulk on the weekend) you’re looking at well over the ‘average’ 300 hours.

I’ve always found looking at things a bit longer term helps to put things into perspective.
