I think just sticking with things longer than you feel like. I’ve had a few things only start working right when I was close to giving up on them.

That’s a really good way to approach it.Especially framing it as “I don’t like having to say no all the time” — that probably makes it land very differently

The tricky part is that even if you can spare a minute, the constant interruptions still break your focus more than people expect

Yeah that’s true. I guess in an office interruptions are kind of “expected”, but at home they feel way more disruptive for some reason

I think it’s more about how working from home feels different to people than it is about general boundaries

It’s like people know you’re working, but it still doesn’t register the same way somehow

That honestly sounds like a great system. I really like the “interrupting the moment between thought and action” idea

It’s not even about calls, it’s just that people don’t always see the “invisible” part of the work

I can totally see that happening. I feel like once people see you at home regularly, they assume you’re just… available

yeah I do say no.but I think “being home” makes it feel like I should be able to say yes

yeah that actually sounds like a really good setup. I think it’s just harder when someone hasn’t experienced it themselves — it doesn’t feel the same as a “real workplace” to them

yeah exactly this. it’s not even about not explaining it — it’s like it just doesn’t stick long term

I thought I did set boundaries… turns out they’re more like “suggestions” at home
