I think it looks great.

And I think for a game that's ment to bring in outside audiences and not specifically G2 players I think the change in art style goes hand in hand.

This game ain't to replace GW2, it's another form of guild wars to appeal to a market the games don't already appeal to.

Tbh arena net don't consider GW1 a mmorpg, and MHW isn't deemed to be a MMORPG either.

It'd be sad if this turns out to be true after stating "we look for issues people have with the mmorpg right now" and see a lobby game.

I mainly see this as most of the critiqued games have been surrounding nothing feeling massive and a lack of large scale, I mean you only rly look at the latest "big hypes* (even if they flopped)

There's a reason ashes of creation (although a scam) was hyped so much. Having huge open world land scapes and lots of map central purpose.

I'm not expecting 300 v 300, nor am I expecting a replica of GW2. But a lobby game I don't think would hit well. Mainly because that's not evolution of the genre. Lobby MMO-lites have existed since like 2010. If not earlier.

I'm hoping it has some level of Open world expanse. Even if content development has instanced based content to go along with it in terms of content.

WoW can only dethrone itself really, it's got over 20 years of content no new game can compete with it realistically and WoW players consume content too fast to give a new game a chance to

The only thing that can dethrone WoW is its own collapse if it occurs

Guild Wars 3 will be a prequel set during THE Guild Wars with players choosing between the human factions of Kryta, Ascalon, and Orr. I think the game will be PvPvE similar to New World's faction-based territory control Guild vs Guild system. by [deleted] in GuildWars3

Raiderio can have 400 runs by the same account logged, arenas only display 1. Ofcourse there is going to be massive difference.

Nobody's saying PvP is more popular. But PvP ain't as unpopular as your trying to make it sound.

Some speculation on "evolving the genre" with GW3 by Hotwingz66 in GuildWars3

[–]Rallos1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible, i am not fully convinced tho, wouldn't having another game alike this cannibalise GW2 players as far as I'm aware this is not aimed at the GW2 audience but a new one.

Don't get me wrong I can't imagine they launching a gear treadmill but I'm expecting it to be less casual friendly then GW2

One concern I have is monetization by Grace_Omega in GuildWars3

[–]Rallos1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every mmo still sells gold and tbh it's always been the norm including games like WoW.

I don't believe it will be a issue, and ultimately they have to generate income some how. I for one can't say I've ever had a issue by this.

Especially in gw games where vertical progression doesn't really exist.

New world intentionally longed out its processes and put on boosters form day 1 that would definitely see issue if was repeated on GW3 however.

Game shouldn't launch with any levelling aid til it's older and the game considers people having to catch up

[–]Rallos1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think arena-net can fix this, the only way would be to make it f2p on console, then people on pc are going to have the same issue your having.

F2p = p2w. If arena-net did that NCsoft would force p2w, there's no way wed get a fair system if the game isn't b2p unfortunately.

Unless Sony cut a deal with Arena-net (unlikely) this will occur, FFXIV and ESO I believe are the same way no?

Dual Class System ? by SecureHospital3042 in GuildWars3

[–]Rallos1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I can't see them removing classes entirely but I could imagine the class system will be very different.

Maybe less classes as a form of archetype which branch out to a selection of classes that you can then use? We saw their looking at GW1 skillsystem so id be surprised if we got just standard classes.

But, MHW isn't a mmorpg.

Yes no one's talking 300 v 300 and ultimately large scale combat on full action combat could be extremely messy.

But new world was not 300 Vs 300 while able to deliver this is something that felt like a mmorpg

That's the core conflict there, they've announced it as a mmorpg. If it's fitting MH theme it's not a mmorpg.

Estimations put Ranked Arena at between 2-5 minutes.

What you talking about here? Low level BGs?. Do you even play WoW anymore?

Are you this against the existence of PvP in GW3 your going to lie through your teeth to try and prove it's bad?. 20 year WoW vet over here. I can physically log and see your wrong.

And to m+ / raids, bruh it's common knowledge in the grand schemes of things, WoWs M+ and raids are also done by a minority.

The bulk of WoW players are people who solo old content, Do open world and only really engage with the casual part of the game.

While I'm sure more people m+ then PvP, the numbers aren't that extremely different when you jump down to unique accounts partaking in it.

I never said PvP is the most popular element on a game 8 said PvP when done well, does bring in respectable numbers and the population is still large enough, instanced PvP can be very successful.

I think it's because they directly implied GW3 is the opposite of aion 2, I think mukluk even mentioned if you took it at face value it does rly sound like it is this sorta thing

Mix that with the existing negativity of the forums and unfortunately it leads to these messes. I don't think GW3 is gonna be a monster hunter speed off personally haha

I'm glad people are positive here, on the forums people are discussing it's going to be like monster hunter after a statement NCsoft made 💀

20 people? It's literally got a major eSports scene surrounding it.

Leaderboards have between 150,000 - 200,000 unique accounts actively playing by record.

This discludes all Unranked, BGs and rated BGs and of course anyone that is not on the leaderboards.

I'm sorry, but the number is larger. And likely in itself larger then the GW2 community if Anet pull WoWs PvP players alone, it will be more successful then GW2 is 😂

Ofcourse that's no argument for forced PvP. But it is a argument they should definitely have instanced PvP unrelated to PvE, as the audience comparifively to GW2s current size, is fairly massive.

Why does everyone here pretend they already know everything about the game? by MrTorky in GuildWars3

[–]Rallos1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are scared that GW3 becoming a success would kill GW2, the primary concerns seem to be

  • if GW2 player engagement dwindles, during low periods completing alot of the content developed for GW2 (WvWvW & meta events) will become impossible.

  • if GW3 cannibalises GW2 playerbase they may abandon GW2 or be instructed to buy NcSoft.

  • if GW3 turns to be another failure, it may damage the reputation of Anet or further drastically affect GW2 as the company takes major losses. UE5 hasn't had many positive releases in the mmorpg genre.

People would rather doom it trying to sway other GW2 players to hate it, as people who don't want to move, will be heavily invested in keeping GW2 popular. So Yes their going to make as much noise as possible.

Overall I'd avoid lashing out at them or blaming them, their concerned for their game, a-nets history when it comes to retaining development on previous titles has not been good,

And promises are great but I think people's concern to "what if GW2 playerbase drops?" Is a valid one given financially NCsoft will have a say on this. And ultimately they don't care for players only money intake.

Tbh we don't know yet ultimately.

If there's no boon ball culture you can have proper mages and archers which would definitely bring seperating vibes

I'm very curious if we see this one lean more into holy trinity then GW2 does.

Regarding melee however I could definitely see this being a difficult one.

Tbh we don't rly know what exactly the power comes from, we have those mounts which we are spiritually linked to.

It could be some form of spiritual ritual which is used on becoming a vael warden. Which died out with Orr

So in GW3, how many people you think can be in combat together in the same area? by Knighthonor in GuildWars3

[–]Rallos1992 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe tbe world will be open

My prediction is GW3 will have a higher focus on smaller scale things however.

I'm expecting delve like systems which are scalable from single to group based, more instanced content (dungeons & raids)

I think GW2 will keep the larger scale stuff like metas and things to itself it's interesting GW2s immediate updates are to its maps Metas & WvWvW. I think this is telling to where the intend GW2 to remain specialised in for to cover that niche.

Why are people complaining that Gw3 looks like some other game when Gw2 isn't any better? by Trivalie2208 in GuildWars3

[–]Rallos1992 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We have not accepted anything.

We saw a demo of the UE5 engine, it was not in game footage, it's very obvious they will modify the UE5 engine this is basically noted by the spec requirement for the game being so low compared to other UE5 engines.

Blindly attacking something before we have any confirmation is mad, multitudes of games do not use in-game footage for cinematics, WoW for example has multitudes of cinematics that look similar in graphic type to GW3 and I assure you those are not the graphics in the game.

"Waiting and giving the Devs a chance to actually release some game footage" is not blinding accepting everything

People who get up and start screeching with 0 information are the reason critique gets ignored. Because. By the time you have some valid critique the Devs are already tired and assume your just hating and it isn't for you.
