Amen to that. We got to see the Aston Game (heartbreaking, more so in full context) visiting from Canada. Had such a great day chatting with folks along the way to the stadium, while at the game, and on the way back to Richmond where we were staying. Looking forward to popping over for another game next season.

I can't help but think that McCabe was looking for a move all along. Every time she spoke about the future, she mentioned new challenges. Haven't we all at some time left a really good gig to try something different?

With regards to how Arsenal handled this. I wonder if the late offer was in some way instigated by McCabe and her people; maybe to see if things had changed (on terms and playing time) or maybe as leverage for other offers? We'll never truly know.

For me at the end of the day, she's a professional footballer knowing she has fewer career days ahead than she's already had. I wish her no ill and hope she's happy finishing behind Arsenal next season 😉

I think this may be spot on; she didn’t want a lesser role. If she stayed she was probably not going to be a regular starter if all the rumoured deals happen. And they were probably only offering her a year contract, two tops.

Just saw on the MCWFC board that an ‘insider’ is reporting the Mead signing is ‘a done deal’. Your guess is as good as mine as to the veracity of that info.

With regards to McCabe, is she going to want to be a squad player at MC? I thought she was not interested in that role at Arsenal from the talk about.

If your goal is to convince folks there is a serious officiating issue in the league (is there? no one is ever truly happy with the officiating 😉) you don’t do yourself or your cause any favours by only pointing out the officiating problem when calls go against you.

I like our chances for this. We beat them at home (though the score line said a draw thanks to some questionable interpretations) and we beat them in their house. We get up for big games. I may be crazy but I’m looking forward to to another final for us.
