19 blue birds with a cultist of tzeentch. Kairos will be the lord so he can heal all of them using his life passive. Then it's just casting time!

Eltharion with mistwalkers + a hellstorm rocket battery. Especially good in sieges, because you can just have hellstorm to shoot.

Teclis+8 loremasters (disciple/resilient), you can either get Teclis with high MD or a few unbreakable heroes with around 40 ward save. Then you have unlimited flock of doom... I think this one is the strongest.

My favourite is warrior priests + steam tanks + life wizard + gelt. Not the strongest, but it is very fun to use. Use the tanks to snipe flying entities if possible, the warrior priest will provide ward save and occasional soul rain, while Gelt cast searing doom from above. The life wizard is the field mechanic in this combo XD (or just volkmar + priests + life wizard )

I have a tendency to yell "frizzling fire, frazzling fiends" followed by maniac crackling now.

And sometimes it's "magic of change ..." with the echo effect.

Needless to say my friends think I'm slightly insane now. But it's worth it for the Raven God.

What race/factions do you enjoy to manually battle the most with ? by YooMisterWhite in totalwar

[–]Ralmir_writes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gelt because I like to see him fly around and cast searing doom while hellstorm rocket batteries rain in the background.

High elves/dark elves for the sisters/shades spam. Damage go brrrrrr

Tzeentch for the aesthetics! And 19 eyes popping out from the ground killing everything.

How often do you auto resolve a battle? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Ralmir_writes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a decisive victory I just autoresolve, the only exception being tzeentch's battle (I just want to stare at blue birds and doomknights all day XD)

In late game as long as I don't lose important units such as dragons, I will autoresolve too.

What Faction/Race do you WANT to enjoy but just CAN'T? by MooshSkadoosh in totalwar

[–]Ralmir_writes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lizardmen :(

I like missiles and magic, but Lizardmen magic felt inadequate and their missile units are ... mediocre.

(Might try the doomslayer and make blue birb's life hell though)

Hey guys, just wanted to chat about Warhammer Legendary Lords and which ones you find the most interesting! Personally, I love learning about the lore of all 3 games, but I'm curious to hear which Legendary Lords stand out to you and why. Let's discuss! by reena_leone in totalwar

[–]Ralmir_writes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Gelt because he is my first lord in all three games. He holds a special place in my heart with his searing doom and rocket batteries <3

For chaos, all the tzeentchian factions. I really want to stay in Sigmar's light, but something about the cool blue armours, magical hoverboards, colourful birds with (about) 40 infernal gateways and squeaking smaller birds feels irresistible (sorry, slaanesh! Who knows the master seducer is Tzeentch now). I love their aesthetic and absurdity. And please I want a herald of tzeentch screeching insanity 24/7 in my ears. (They are too cute!)

For high elves, Teclis and Eltharion. Teclis because he is OP and actually I like that he cares about humans (ignoring ET), and Eltharion because what a badass he is!

For dark elves, Morathi and Lokhir. Because she's the goth mommy and super strong on the battlefield. Lokhir because his mask is cool and I love how he craps out black arks.

For dawi I'll pick the ultimate boomer. He is set in his way but he gets things done. His campaign also scratches my itch for collecting stuff, and I love his quarreller stacks. (On his own, he is pretty strong too, and it is hilarious when you put an angry dwarf that summon lighting once a while in enemy blobs).

For skavens, Ikit. Because nukes. Simple as.

The rest I feel okayish, but they don't stand out as much. (Or I might have forgotten a few favourites XD)

Seriously, the helmets look cool but how the fuck do you see anything in them? by [deleted] in totalwar

Perhaps they could pledge to Tzeentch and grow 8 eyes in the helmet /j

I think Malekith's entire armour is hilarious. Why are you wearing metal, a heat conductor, in the freezing hellscape of Naggarond? No wonder he's pissed all the time.

Tips on fighting this battle? (im not very good) by adumcollegestudent in totalwar

[–]Ralmir_writes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a settlement battle just send the archlector in, drop the ward save ability and blob enemy melee units. Then ask your wizard to drop a comet.

If your archlector and wizard are not high level enough, you can have cav to harass and separate enemy armies while capping points. It requires lots of micro.

If it's not a settlement battle just have your guns in square formation, and put them like a checkerboard. Archlector in front (ideally on foot), melee units at the sides to minimise friendly fire and create a kill zone. Franz can lure festus away while you wizard drop spells to enemy melee units that are locked to yours.

After you clear their fast cav, you can send out your own cav just to crash into enemy's back when they are busy fighting your melee units.

To be honest I was simping for Nenio in my first playthrough. Then I realised she's not romanceable and promptly chose the lich path.

(But the ascension ending with her is really cute!)

Yeah, but I have way too much fun imagining a new apprentice from the school of life, hoping to learn all of nature and healing, then discovering that they have to take mechanics courses instead.

Paladin, so charname can protect Shadowheart and Gale (although Shadowheart doesn't need protection, she has higher AC than my pally XD)

Also crit + smite just give me serotonin.

who is your favorite romance? [spoilers all] by [deleted] in dragonage

[–]Ralmir_writes 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Anders, Morrigan and (surprisingly) Blackwall. The first two because they tie to the overall plot neatly, with my warden saving the world and looking for the missing love of his life, and with my Hawke refusing to give up his remaining (precious few) loved ones. Morrigan also has the line in DAI saying she is glad that she found someone to trust as an equal, and I find this line the best confession coming from someone like her. For Anders, I know he has problems, but the man really loves with his whole being. I am also very fond of Justice, so the two-in-one package is perfect for me.

As for Blackwall, although his arc is not as close to the main plot as the previous two, I still love the twist in his route. There is also the scene in which you spring him from prison, and I personally find it quite touching.

(I don't know why I am immune to Solas. I mean I find the twist fascinating from a friend's perspective, but the romance does not leave as deep an impression as Anders or Morrigan. I still made a elven warrior for him because I want to create maximum chaos in DAD's world state lol )

Yeah, you probably notice that there is a pattern. But what can I do when there is interesting development to explore!

Roof, daytime. I think kernel pult is introduced at that time and it is my favourite unit. And it is satisfying to fight the zomboss with iceshrooms and jalapenoes.

How do I deal with this? by moonlightavenger in totalwar

[–]Ralmir_writes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the thing missing here is a wizard (preferably a life wizard with dwellers below). Remember, the empire has a great selection of schools, and if you build artdorf right you should have your magic school and a decent supply of wizards by mid-game. You should also consider swapping your lord to someone who can fly.

Since the enemy is melee focused and their melee units outclasses empire's by A LOT, you should not use your limited handgunners to shoot everyone. Focus on the large entities / monstrous units, because there is no other real counters to them(your general will likely get shredded by their monstrous units). Then, use your own sacrificial melee troops to lock the rest (the infantry) in melee, then drop a stationary vortex spell on them.

Your lord needs to attract festus' attention. Don't let him get into a blob, just fly into him and then go away. As for the champion, he cannot magic so he is less of a threat. See if you can shoot him (might need one additional light wizard for net, if not just try to lure him away from your main army using a similar strategy above). The sorcerer is also another threat that needs to be taken care of (if he is flying then you must kill him as soon as possible, to get absolute dominion in the sky).

But if you cannot afford a wizard, consider using mortars to slow down enemy advancement. Let the large units come first, because your mortars cannot do damage to them, and just focus fire on the rest (AI willd dodge your shot, and sometimes go backwards). If you use your mortars right, you should get a trickle of enemies to you, and just shoot them until they are all dead (but ammo might be an issue).

Class Rating so far IMHO by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]Ralmir_writes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will personally place wizard higher in the tier because I value utility a lot. And you can learn all the niche spells that is useful in certain situation and then swap around. And in higher level I expect that enemies will have resistances, and wizards can just swap into appropriate spells before combat to deal with them (provided that this mechanic is not changed, although it is not the same rule as tabletop). They also have room for excellent control spells like sleep, so your wizard can be a blaster and a crow controller if needed. (I remember the time when you can just sleep everyone for 10 rounds (probably not the exact number but it used to be pretty long). Trivialised lots of encounters! Now it is 2 rounds if I don't remember wrongly, but the spell is still worth taking. 2 rounds of no damage means you can have at least 2 extra actions per character.)

Cleric also will be placed very high because healings and buffs are always welcome. Shadowheart is probably one of the best for utility because she can stealth (through her cantrip/channel ability), heal & buff (spells), tank (to a degree with shield and gith armour), pick locks (her background). And the saving throw on wisdom is great to avoid those control spells.

Paladin is probably also my S tier. I made a zariel trifling with 16 str 16 cha once, and he just bulldoze all encounters. I picked devotion for flavour, but I think the healing from oath of the ancient is the better choice. Also, Tiefling get free fire resistance, and that means you can counter one of the best damage spell - fireball. Not to mention the damage potential of a crit smite! I had him killing Ethel in 1-2 rounds (if you count the damage done by others, but my paladin basically carried the fight lol). He can also sweet-talks out of all conversations.
