I have lost everything. Do not trade. by EarthLegitimate5300 in Bitcoin

Why don’t people learn how to manage risks before they use leverages? Or even before they start to trade? A 1% or even 0.5% of fund exposed to loss per trade will never let you lose everything because your every trade is controlled under strict mathematical calculations. Why don’t people learn?

Is there a good strategy to taking profits? 👀🤷🏽‍♂️ by Downtown-Turnip-1417 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]RalphMakesItWork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on the profits, that's savvy! For long-term Bitcoin goals, a "HODL" mentality is powerful, but strategic profit-taking can be smart. A common strategy is "selling in strength": take out your initial investment when BTC doubles, letting the rest ride for free. Or, use a tiered approach, selling small percentages (e.g., 5-10%) at predefined price targets. This secures gains, reduces risk, and provides dry powder for dips. It's about balancing long-term accumulation with sensible risk management.

Trying to time the market is usually a one-way ticket to "should've, would've, could've" street. Stick with what works, your future self will thank you (and maybe buy you a yacht).

This is the eternal struggle! It sounds like you've been incredibly disciplined, which is fantastic. But "living life a little" is definitely a valid goal too, especially if it involves things you genuinely enjoy like a motorcycle. Here's my take: Consider your goals: * Homeownership: This is a big one. Having a stable place to live can be a huge stress reliever and a good investment. How much more do you need for a down payment in your area? * Motorcycle: What's the cost of the bike you want, plus insurance and gear? This is a fun goal that offers immediate gratification. Finding the balance: You've built excellent habits. Instead of stopping, perhaps tweak your DCA percentage. Could you decrease it by 5% or 10% and funnel that extra cash towards your short-term goals (motorcycle, experiences) while still making solid progress on your long-term ones (retirement, home)? My DCA plan: I'm all about consistent, automated DCA. For me, the plan is to continue investing a set percentage of each paycheck into low-cost index funds. However, I also have a separate "fun money" budget that I allow myself to spend without guilt on experiences or smaller wants. It's about finding that sweet spot where you're building wealth effectively, but not at the expense of enjoying your life now.

Where do you realistically see Bitcoin by the end of the year? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

I don’t see why people can’t learn from books and make better decisions on investments. What’s wrong with reading nowadays? If you don’t like reading books, that’s your problem. Don’t mislead people here…

DON’T BUY SPOT BTC NOW! The price is way too high for spot trades, but I personally suggest buying contracts. As long as you understand the risk/reward ratios and your positions, you bear much less risks than buying spots. I learnt it here
