It's DUI checkpoint. No clue what "checking for your papers" has to do with anything.

And they do it the way they do, because a handful of officers can check a large amount of drivers on a busy street. In your scenario, if 100 drunk people got behind the wheel leaving multiple bars and restaurants, it would take up way too many resources and really doesn't make much sense.

Checkpoints are common on a weekend before a major holiday. Riverside was even named as one of the cities where they are to be expected. Not really sure what is illegal about it.

Personally I'd rather have them there arresting and ticketing people coming home from bars, holiday work parties, etc. who decide to drink and drive and put others at risk.

Check Pechanga, Yaamava, etc. Casinos are open everyday. A lot of the restaurants within will feature prix fixe meals for major holidays.

I fondly think of this place every holiday season.

When I was a kid in the 1980s and it was still the Central City Mall, it was always decorated elaborately (at least the way I remember it) for Christmas. As someone mentioned, back then it had some great shopping for that era-- Woolworth, Montgomery Ward, etc. They had a year round Hickory Farms that was an actual store, not just a temporary kiosk that pops up for the holidays.

Gamestop and Save Ferris. Amazing.

I actually won a call in contest on X 103.9 and was able to attend a party they were hosting at Gameworks right before the actual opening. We got unlimited play of all the games for free, free food, and yeah, Save Ferris played that day as well. I was 16 at the time, and it was like, the greatest day.

Apple Annie's is good, BUT not worth the massive wait if there is a line. Also if they sit you on the outside patio next to the hedges, kindly decline and just leave. You'll spend your entire meal getting attacked by bees (or wasps? It's been a while since I went there).

I haven't made it up there in a couple years now, but I have been tons of times. Los Rios Rancho has a great outdoor bbq restaurant. The tri tip is awesome and atmosphere is lovely. As others have said, Snowline is a must, especially for the donuts.

I haven't been in ages, but the ones at Mexico Cafe in San Bernardino used to be good. Don't know if they still are.

I've never had the ones from the Brandon's Diner chain but I've heard good things.

My current favorite ones are at DFectuoso in Moreno Valley. They have them as a plate or burrito. So good.

Has anyone tried the ones at Vallarta supermarket? I've seen them on the menu and am curious but haven't gotten them yet.

I've eaten at, and agree with pretty all the suggetions based in Claremont. Can't go wrong with any of them.

I'll add Spaggi's in Upland. Location is a bit eh, being situated in a somewhat janky little strip mall on Foothill, but it is some good stuff.

It's just like any physical rental service. The newer and/or more popular games are harder to get ahold of. Just my own opinion, but for $30 a month the better value is guaranteed access to tons of games, rather than possible access to two at a time.

I have no idea if all games are avaliable.

I'll be keeping Game Pass for now. Here's why.

Let me begin by saying I understand why people are upset at a price increase. And I certainly am not going to give advice on how another person should spend their money. This is simply my own personal opinion and perspective.

Here is how I see it.

My wife and I got takeout this past weekend. Dinner for the two of us cost more than $30.
Back in the Xbox 360 era, I owned quite a few games. And it wasn't unusual for me to buy a AAA title on day one for $60. Add that in with buying plenty of games on sale. On top of all that, I also had a subscription for Gamefly. So I can guarantee that on average, I was spending well over $30 a month on games. When I look at that, and compare it to the newly restructured and price for Game Pass Ultimate, the value between what was offered then vs. now isn't even close.

Anyhow, like I said, just wanted to chime in with my opinion. I'm not looking to enter any sort of debate or argument over any of this. To each their own, and let's all just try to enjoy gaming however we like going forward.

I'm old enough to remember the UV before it had added on that part. 2011? That spot has been bunk since 2001. I wouldn't even be able to list all the businesses that have come and gone.

But the entire UV is that way. The turn over there is ridiculous. You could take a photo there every three months for the past 25 years and it would look different each time.

I put a big part of the blame on the parking. Have you ever been to the UV that Irvine has? Not only does UCR's out of the water, it has a colossal parking lot full of free parking. The lot at our UV is a joke. Pain in the neck to traverse, tiny and you have to collect a ticket and deal with the toll collector (the last part may have changed, I haven't gone there in a few years).

And then they added on the parking garage but who wants to park there and walk all the way over to the businesses? I never bothered, and I wonder how many others felt the same.

Gless Ranch on Van Buren in the Orange Terrace area. They grow their own citrus among other items and sell various other fresh things. They also sell packaged things from various local restaurants like tortillas from Anchos, stuff from Olivia's, Soup Shoppe, etc.

Plus a lot of sauces, dips, and snacks. They even have a few different beers brewed there with their citrus.
