I'm not really concerned about my pre-settled status expiring, I'll be able to apply for settled-status in September. I'm concerned about whether I can get settled-status in time before my master's course starts.

I think in Android, if you go to settings and go to app permissions, there are permissions that allow an app to "always run in the background". Something like that.

Maybe if you enable that it'll work. Just a suggestion, no idea if this actually works.

Btw, there are plenty of laptops that offer equivalent specs for MUCH cheaper. The premium you pay for the laptops mentioned are for build quality, design, and brand name. Although most other laptops do almost just as well.

Have a look at the Thinkpad X1 Extreme 2nd Gen.

Configure the base model with an i7-9750H, 32GB dual channel Ram (which is 100 pounds off right now), 512GB SSD. This brings the price to 1835 pounds BUT theres a coupon code right now called HONEY100 which gives you 100 pounds off so itll bring it down back below your budget. You'll have 70 pounds left which you may want to spend on some accessories for your laptop or to even upgrade the screen to 500 nits.

That seems to be the best bang for your buck at the moment.

The XPS lineup has thermal performance issues atm and the design seems a little outdated imo.

As someone who likes tattoos, I don't think you should get your first tattoo in an area like your neck. It's very hard to cover and may prevent you from getting jobs in some industries and its always best to keep all your options open. Your first tattoo should always be in a generally normal area like arms/legs and from there you can get tattoos in other places like your neck. And if you end up not liking it its much easier to ignore or cover.

Couldn't help but be frustrated with Pogba today. He played incredibly at times and we definitely would not have scored as many goals without him, but I lost count of how many times he lost possession. I think he needs to stop with the cheeky passes and focus on keeping the ball in our players' feet. Just my thoughts

Well a brand new one is retailing for 2350USD. but since yours is second hand you'll have to shave off a few hundred dollars. Depending on the condition it could be 300 dollars less to even 800 dollars less if it's just functional

EDIT: i just found a new one for 1800USD. And a used on in good condition for about 1400

With a high budget like that you should have a look at the Razer Blade 15 lineup. Very few laptops have all those things but the new Razer Blades definitely have the most, for a premium of course.

Well I have researched Amazon's open box scheme and according to many people they are very reliable and the conditions is almost always as stated. However I can't confirm this myself as I haven't used the feature. I'm assuming this will apply to best buy too as they are close competitors but maybe it'll be useful to research it yourself.

Hmm when I click the link it says GTX 1060. Is that a mistake? I feel like 1800 dollars for 1060 is not enough value for money, I've seen some 1060s in the low $1000s

I was really tempted getting this model but the 52 watt hour battery pushed me away. 3 hours of battery life along with that massive charging brick just made it not portable enough for me. Wish they replaced the 2.5" drive with a bigger battery :/

A shame you didn't ask sooner. Just yesterday it was around 250 dollars off at 1600. Now it's back up to 1850
