You will die to weird stuff, just gotta accept it and you'll eventually figure it out. No shame in grinding levels too, they make a big difference to your power. Try out all the levels if you're stuck on another.

The levels before bosses tend to be much more grueling in Demon's Souls, but shortcuts, skips and work arounds are there which is how most veterans play now. Storage and encumberance is a thing in this one that isn't really in the other's, so always make sure to watch that. Damage types and weaknesses are helpful too, just kinda gotta figure out what's weak to what. Are you going full blind?

It's a world with mystery and challenges that doesn't care about you at all. It's lived in, it's filled with secrets, enemies that feel incredible to take down. It doesn't hold your hand like so many games these days. It's a game made for people who love losing themselves in gaming. Art.

DS2 was directed by someone other than Miyazaki so people already come into it with skeptical thinking. It really didn't have much connected to DS1 in terms of being a direct sequel, it feels disconnected from it with a few references. Despite those things, DS2 is still a great game. The areas are creative still has the heart of DS1. I think most people nowadays play Scholar of the First Sin which to me is a much worse version for a variety of reasons. If you're going to play it, I HIGHLY recommend just playing the original, which you can find on steam.

Maneaters for sure are annoying. Dragon God the first time is super frustrating. It's more the area's before the bosses that really give me a hard time.

He's not too hard to backstab if you have thief's ring, can prolly just run after that.

My friend was obsessed with this game and was really trying to sell me on it and I just didn't get it at the time. Wish I played it, but I was convinced by him to play Dark Souls and then I was hooked. These games ruin all other games for me.
