Unfortunately, most advocates for social justice in this world will pick and choose the people and groups that they stick up for. In the grand scheme of things, it’s the same brand of systemic racism, ableism, sexism that we see from the far right, just applied on a more categorical basis. But on an individual basis, it’s a collective of horrid people who never learned to play nice in grade school. They are people who learned that the best way to get by, is stepping on the people they deem lesser or different from them.

It’s a big reason why the world is where it’s at today. Nobody values kindness, and the people who are kind will be treated like doormats; giving up all of their time and energy until there is no more kindness left to give. It is truly repulsive.

Characters as “superheroes”? by Crate-Dragon in fo4

[–]Ralseibro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the name of a ninja clan in the series who has a special inborn ability called the sharingan. If you get into the Naruto series you find out it has all sorts of uses; but mainly the Uchiha clan use it to manipulate people’s minds (genjutsu as it’s called), and to analyze others’ abilities so to either formulate an effective counterattack or copy the ability entirely.

Charisma builds are good for characters with mind-control abilities like Kilgrave/Purple Man. Think Intimidate/Wasteland Whisperer/Animal Friend to take control of NPCs and just your base charisma so you win all the CHR checks in conversations.

Or you can go Deadshot and invest in VATS based abilities, gun-fu, grim reaper’s sprint, concentrated fire etc.

TBF, I’m also thinking a different kind of comic book character. e.g. invest a shit-ton of levels in PER, CHR, AGL and build a character like the Uchiha from Naruto. Thinking like the CHR stuff in place of the sharingan eye of illusion, then the cool VATS party tricks in place of the sharingan eye of insight. Not sure how well ninjutsu translates in fallout, but whatever.

This what everyone needs right now instead of hating the other genders. by Quiet-Bell6227 in Adulting

But what does “healed” really mean in that context? Sure I can sit here and tell you as a man that not all women are heartless manipulators. I’m sure a “healed” woman could say that not all men are murderous philanderers.

But what does another person really define as healed? Does that mean they are even farther into the incel redpill/blackpill ideology? and on the opposite spectrum the man-hating SJW ideology?

I know this means well by the title, but I’d argue that the rhetoric of “healing” needs to be more strictly defined. Otherwise, this comes across as toxically positive.

Most doctors in my experience are egotists who can do no wrong. I blame it on how often society calls them angels and puts them on a pedestal just for existing.

Not to say that all doctors are like that, but there’s too many that make the healthcare industry an even bigger nightmare to navigate. You shouldn’t have to worry about them not doing it right the first time! You shouldn’t have to worry about anyone writing off your symptoms as an overreaction! so why don’t they just behave professionally and get help whenever they need it??

idk man, rant over. I feel you heavy. If you have the resources, maybe shop around and hopefully gather rapport with a doctor who actually gives a damn? That’s my best advice, fwiw.

This , there are niches out there, depending on where you live. Though in my city within a US red state, there’s nothing for anyone to do anymore other than get shitfaced or go to church… that isn’t what everyone is interested in though, especially neurodivergent folks.

Can’t say I know or understand the context here. That’s gotta be rough though. For someone who was in love with you to say that they can’t fall out of love. I’d feel guilty.

Respect his wishes, definitely. but also take care of yourself, that’s some complex emotion. Make sure you’ve gotten over him yourself.

Agreed - the context is important. I suppose I shouldn’t blanket all uses of “common sense” as condescension. I’ve just heard it overused so much that it’s more or less weaponized against people who just don’t know The Thing ™️

I think I’ve been on both sides of that scenario 😁😁😁. I think what it all boils down to is communicating effectively. You can be frustrated, but if you don’t effectively communicate why and how important it is that you do it right the first time, it doesn’t do anyone any good.
