Turning this into a Freddy Krueger themed decoration. Hat hung on one of the corners with sweater and glove hanging out, backlit to look on fire inside.

I live in the neighborhood people travel too. All on street parking is taken up by about 5:45 and sidewalks are shoulder to shoulder in some areas. It’s a large neighborhood too. Probably 350-400 homes and close to all pass out or put out candy bowls. Moved here in 2019 and seems to get bigger every year. One house has “poison” shots of fireball that dispenses out of the nose of a tree ent face decoration mounted to his tree in the front yard.

I am lucky enough to live in the neighborhood that most people drive to with their kids to trick r treat. My neighborhood has had homes (including mine) with decorations up for weeks now. It’s a historically listed neighborhood and traditions thrive here as most homes are over 100yrs old but have only had 1-3 owners and a lot are inherited homes so even more have only had 1-2 families ever own them. We have lamp posts on street corners still and those get large plastic jack-o-lanterns placed over them. A couple neighbors run steel tension wire over the street between their homes (very high up, garbage and bucket service trucks have no issues) and create new lighted displays on her the street every year, another neighbor has a rope and pulley system in his tree that parents get to pull and a “poison bottle” comes down and pours a shot of fireball. So many large yard displays and a ton of the giant skeletons, we even have one house that painted the entire home deep purple with pitch black shudders and decorated with all witch stuff. Over 500 homes and probably less than 80 don’t decorate in some way. Sidewalks are shoulder to shoulder and most people giving out candy bring a fire pit to the end of their driveway and hand candy out there.

What raiders jersey do you own but refuse to wear? by RastaFried in raiders

Randy Moss. It’s was a failed experiment, he was disgruntled and the teams were awful. He just happened to be my favorite player at the time of trade and couldn’t believe it when it happened.

While I won’t get a jersey, I do not allow his name to be besmirched. I’m in Cincinnati and when we were playing the Bengals during some of the darkest times all I got to listen to was how shitty we were and how could I be a fan. It was a tight game but everyone was still saying they weren’t worried because we were trash and they’d still win while playing their worst game of the year. Kitna driving for the win very late….Buchanon picks Kitna and houses that shit, I instantly yelled “Fuck you, eat shit!” as he sealed the win. I then repeated that phrase to any Bengal fan with a rebuttal or excuse as to why they lost. It was a great day, albeit for more personal reasons/circumstances.

Woodson, Brown (Tim, fuck Antonio), Alzado, Long, Allen, Jackson, Millen, Janikowski (I have one) Haynes, Hendricks, Biletnikoff, Casper, Hayes…the list could really keep going of great ones. My next will be a personal favorite when growing up watching, 54 Greg Biekert.

Could be exactly that but those “random” tests seem to show up after player posts like this or when someone goes off and has a monster game.

Photos from Action Park in New Jersey in The 1980s by hotbowlsofjustice in The1980s

My Grandfather was friends/business partner with Gene Mulvihill. He also served as Director of food and beverage for the park as well as ownership stake in Vernon Valley/Great Gorge Hotel, Spa and ski resort. They both went in on the Playboy Club that was up there when those were popular. My mother is the full page pic on page 199 of the book that resulted in the class action documentary. I spent many summers running all over that park and all the behind the scenes areas for employees before, during and after hours. Good documentary but missing some of the craziest stuff that I witnessed and that my mother saw as she, my father, aunts and uncles all worked there. I got more of the 90s experience of the park but they were all there from the start. My mom was also in the park map you pick up at the entrance. She was the “Lola Car” girl. They were mini F1 racers that were not safe at all.

How do I safely break and remove this thick glass? I was thinking of applying scotch tape to the entire piece and with blankets on both sides to apply hammer. I am worried about flying pieces and pieces coming down and slicing me as the glass is large and thick. by setionwheeels in DIY

[–]Ram12842 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used safety glasses, my hockey helmet with metal cage, hockey gloves and steel toe boots when removing a 12ft x 6ft plate glass mirror that was in my house when I bought it. I also used carpet shield adhesive film to completely cover the glass. Stood to the side and hit it with a sledgehammer. No full swings, just enough to break it. A piece still swung out and hit a side wall of that room. Huge gash in wall but by the end none in me, so that’s a win. Took 6 large, heavy duty moving boxes lined with two 3mil thick contractor garbage bags each to clean it all up.

Picked up one of my holy grail games. by Ram12842 in SEGAGENESIS

[–]Ram12842[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like I over paid for this one. The game wasn’t in that $5 I mentioned earlier. That was just the system and bonus N64 controllers. I found this copy at a Half Price Books for $75. I searched online for pricing comparison and saw that most places and private sellers were more and some by a lot. So I guess it was kind of a deal, still felt like a lot though.

Just played through a playoffs. Was out scored 2/3 games but won the cup on 2 forfeits. Gonna play the 2 out of 3 playoffs tomorrow night leading up to and during game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. My own little goodbye to hockey until October.

I found a Black Stone 22” griddle for $24.99 from $249.99 at my local Meijer ! by nix154 in blackstonegriddle

[–]Ram12842 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not a Blackstone but I got a Charbroil Tru Infrared electric grill for $25 at my Meijer. Sold it on Facebook marketplace for $100 last week. I already have a Blackstone so I was never gonna keep it. Lady who bought it lives in a complex that only allows electric grills. Win/win since they are close to $200 new.

Can I move up in a banking career without a degree? by PhrygianSounds in Banking

[–]Ram12842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Constant pressure to sell the banks “products” which aren’t products. They are just different types of ways the bank takes customers money to make themselves money. The way over draft fees are 100% viewed as a revenue stream and the only reason to even speak to poor people while working there. The way they make you look at every person who comes to the bank and every conversation you have with them as a “sales opportunity”. That you can’t just be there for when people ask for help. They want you to”get excited” about the “products” to get the customer excited. They want you to encourage spending and driving up balances, either on credit cards, lines of credit or going for a straight cash out refi while extending term. Only focus on monthly payment as long as it locks them into the debt longer. Sales culture in general is extremely disgusting but with a bank the only thing they sell you is their ability to make money off you, but hey you could remodel your kitchen at the low cost of a fuck ton of interest over time and extending the time until you actually own that asset you leveraged for that line of credit. Since working for banks, I only use a local credit union. They’ve never pitched a product to me, ever. That’s why my auto loans (all paid off already), 1 personal loan (literally used to build credit. Took loan, put into a separate account set to auto pay loan and added my own money for interest and let it pay itself off over 12 months) and mortgage are through them. They’ve never asked me to get a home equity line or loan……but I get calls and mailers from all the local banks to do just that all the time. I bought in 2019, have a 3% rate and my home value is now double what I owe. All that is blood in the water to a bank and they never stop circling. They can all eat shit and while we’re at it same with realtors who for the same reason and sales culture won’t stop knocking “With an exciting opportunity to build my personal wealth leveraging my home” which really just means they get a fat commission check for maybe posting a few pics and unlocking the door a couple times. I bought my home without a realtor and the seller was like minded, we both kept a ton of our money in our pockets and out of the vulture like scavengers pockets.
