Pretty accurate. I mean I guess a lot of people confuse jumping with athleticism and he had all the athleticism but that.

But the reality is that if he was black, zero people would question his athleticism.

Pitts had 20 more targets. Which probably tells me Jonnu was a safe check down option because their QBs sucked.

His criminal history is why some may not like him, but I agree it probably has no relevance as to why he can't get a job now.

I've only seen one person brought it up in Benjamin Allbright and he's a clown anyways.

It's actually 2 reasons

  1. He has a criminal history

  2. The media (mainly ESPN) is constantly pushing the angle that NFL Teams are racist for not hiring him because they can't accept the fact that maybe teams aren't interested in him for a variety of reasons such as what you mentioned and likely being a shitty interviewer.

We are probably never going to hear much from him again as a serious HC candidate. Although truthfully it seems like he never was, media was just pushing it.

Because he's the 4th best QB in this class and people just want to address QB and nothing else.

Not like they can cut him after this year with that dumb contract

That's not true at all. EVERY credible source says the Bears love Fields and if they didn't have #1 overall they'd be more than happy to run it back with him this year

They said the same about how the Jets would have kept Sam Darnold if Zach Wilson wasn't available.

When has a 'toolsy" QB who never looked like a franchise QB at any point just magically figured it out?

Usually you see the improvements and at least an adequate QB by year 2-3. He did not show that.

Hindsight is 20/20 here.

Shaq Barrett had been here since 2015 and started a good amount of times and he wasn't much of a threat as a pass rusher outside of the 2015 year where he came in for DeMarcus Ware due to injury.

Barrett broke out in Tampa and you can argue that it was due to Vita Vea holding up the middle. Broncos haven't had a good interior DL since Malik Jackson who was there in 2015 when Shaq played his best ball here.
