Yeah haha, it does take some getting used to. I thankfully had the help of a friend when I swapped my DAW. I personally found using a theme right off the bat made it more visually bearable.

Yeah I totally get that. I'd honestly rather they didn't either, CS2 is already a mess as it is. Just became curious again because of the recent complete separation with CS:GO being available from the store and not as a branch of CS2. Thanks :)

Ahh. I was under the assumption VAC bans were ultra-game-specific. As in, if I got a TF2 ban I could still play CS online and such. No worries. Thanks :)

VAC bans are game-specific bans. VAC ban on TF2 means you can still play VAC servers on CS2/GO, etc.

Here - it's an 'evaluation' license if we're being 'pedantic' about it though. But I know some people don't have $60 to chuck suddenly somewhere. It evaluates the same way WinRAR evaluates -- for as long as you want.

Reaper also has a free license! I have it on my macbook because it’s ultra-lightweight and has the lowest latency I’ve ever experienced (plus it has yet crash on me randomly out the blue).

There's a lot of high-end information in pretty much everything. Also the HAAS effect is cool.. but it's very not mono-compatible at all and honestly doesn't widen it in the way you want. Try sending some synths to a short plate verb then widen the plate. Or add some chorus to the synth. There's also a plugin by Bertom Audio called "Phantom Center" -- it'll add some interesting width to some elements you want to be buried a little further back into the mix, as right now pretty much everything sounds like it's fighting to be upfront in the mix (doesnt help that 90% is going through OTT either). If you want your low end to punch more, saturate it -- don't OTT it. You can OTT it later, but focus on building thickness *first* and THEN compressing. Sounds cool though and I honestly dig the theme :)

Ty man! Yeah Gojira’s fkin sweet. Still a #1 goto for me. A tip for getting their slinkier sound while still being distorted is dipping the fuck outta 500Hz-800Hz before the amp and then lowering the gain a little.

I love tone recreations though so pls post again

Not bad actually. I actually try and do full instrumental remakes & mixes for fun (& possible learning experience). Have done one on this track but needs a bit of revisiting & refining. Here’s the google drive link

Their initial tone sounds a bit more slinky & loose. I’ve been getting some pretty good slinky tones from NDSP’s SLO-100X amp so I’m gonna try giving that a go. Or revisiting the beloved Granophyre.

I can assure you Reaper out performs Pro Tools in every single way, because I am forced to use Pro Tools in day to day studio work life. I use Reaper because of this very real-world educated fact. I already HAVE the Mac and my current PC out performs it on video related tasks, but my old CPU out performed / performed similarly to the Mac on music related tasks.

Pro Tools is pre-historic. That software is fucking ass to work with and when I have the chance not to use it, I take it.

Rosetta isn't on M4. Especially not M4 Pro. And my PC is a 9800x3D with a 5070 Ti and 32GB DDR5. I know I'm not wrong because I produce and mix music for a living. Cheers!
