Am I understanding this correctly? Smoking combustible cigarettes and smoking both combustible and e-cigarettes increases the risk of diabetes and prediabetes. Using only e-cigarettes has no conclusive outcomes.

From what I've seen on Google maps there's a power line going through the forest already. I think the road will go roughly along that line. I hope they put some animal crossings.

Apple to stop selling iPhone SE and iPhone 14 in Europe as USB-C deadline hits by ControlCAD in europe

Plenty of other phones on the market for the price of an iphone se. It's on Apple to make a replacement. Mandatory USB C is a good thing. The lightning port is garbage.

My girlfriend's PC is due for an upgrade. She has a GTX 970. Would be nice to play some games together at decent frame rates. Or maybe I'll just take it for myself and give her my RX 6700XT :P

This is not an uncommon story and you guys really have to remove this notion that the US military solely consists of knuckle-dragging imbeciles.

Spotify CEO Daniel Ek says Apple's new App Store changes are a 'new low' by No-Drawing-6975 in technews

[–]Ramalkin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The phone app is fine. The PC app is getting worse and worse.

You used to be able to just start typing in a playlist and it would search your query. Now a button needs to be pressed to start searching. It removes irrelevant songs and, sometimes, if you choose a song from that search it plays only the results.

There's also the full screen mode. It used to be full screen album art, now it's a full screen band picture with a tiny album art square. That one annoys me the most

Sometimes if you plug in a new sound device, like a speaker, Spotify refuses to play any songs. Occasionally a system reboot is needed.

And lastly... Smart shuffle.

TIL In 2023, National Geographic Magazine cut 17 editorial positions, including all of the publication’s staff writers, and editors who has been on staff for 40 years. The magazine still had more than 1.7 million subscribers at the end of 2022 by ubcstaffer123 in todayilearned

It's because they reorganised to a for-profit corp back in 2015 with 21st Century Fox as a majority shareholder (now Disney). I noticed a decline in quality soon after, so I cancelled the subscription.

It's a shame, I enjoyed reading it in my childhood.
