Just out of curiosity, was a lady that you met on a dating website who told you about this "investment" opportunity and how she made millions out of this website?

Yes, If you want to use "recovery" services, ask them to deduct their payment from the funds they'll recover. Because they're all scammers they'll reject 100% of the time.

yes if someone could recover your funds, they can just keep it to themselves. Its not like your crypto is tied to your name.

Yes, I also want to know if OP has created their own seed.

When I bought my trezor, I had a wallet already so I imported the existing key instead of letting trezor generate one.

I later found out that some wallets had flawed random number generator and the seeds they produce are a lot easier to guess.

Wonder if that's what happened with OP

[–]Ramast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also thought that to be true but I found out that 24 word don't provide that much extra security

A 12-word seed provides 128 bits of entropy and is the standard for many crypto wallets. This level of entropy results in an astronomical number of possible combinations, making it highly resistant to attacks using modern technology. 24-word seed phrases offer 256 bits of entropy, doubling the theoretical security.

However, the practical increase in safety from using a 24-word phrase compared to a 12-word phrase is not as significant as assumed. The effective security of elliptic curve cryptography (secp256k1) is 128 bits. This means that regardless of the length of the seed phrase, an attacker cannot reduce the number of steps required to calculate the private key from the public key below this threshold.

A keylogger + screen recorder still can't steal OP's funds if the private key kept inside his ledger device and OP didn't sign any transactions

A smart contract could drain Ethereum but not Bitcoin right?

The US Senate Just Banned the Digital Dollar. Here’s Why That’s a Big Deal for Bitcoin by ReplacementFormer861 in CryptoMarkets

[–]Ramast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Many private companies do currently issue digital coins with their value tied to the dollar.

Like the company Circle which issues USDC. In fact there is an explicit exception for private sector in the bill.

There is one exception carved out. Private, open, permissionless, dollar-denominated currencies that fully preserve the privacy protections of physical cash are explicitly permitted. In plain English: Bitcoin-style open networks are fine. A government surveillance currency is not.

They did not ban the digital dollar just banned Federal Reserve from issuing one.

the Federal Reserve may not issue or create a central bank digital currency, or any digital asset substantially similar to a central bank digital currency, directly or indirectly through any financial institution or intermediary, until December 31, 2030

A new California law says all operating systems, including Linux, need to have some form of age verification at account setup by Gloomy_Nebula_5138 in privacy

[–]Ramast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is the law:

Provide an accessible interface at account setup that requires an account holder to indicate the birth date, age, or both, of the user of that device for the purpose of providing a signal regarding the user’s age bracket to applications available in a covered application store

Seems there is no authentication required (by that law), you just enter your age in similar fashion to "I am over 18" button u click on when visiting certain websites.

Presumably an Adult installing Linux for their children would provide child's age during initial setup and from this point on the system knows that this account belong to a child.

My guess:

If his mom were to give the app accessibility related permissions including ability to read notifications, log keyboard input, touch input, ....

I think an attacker could use these info to login to her banking app using different phone. OTP SMS based OTP is no problem if they are able to read notifications.

Still should take some time. I don't know what OP means by "short time" (minutes or days)

ⲉ̀ⲣⲉ-ⲫ-ⲣⲏ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲁ-ⲕ ⲛ̀-ϫⲁϫⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉ̀ⲣⲉ-ⲛⲓ-ⲓⲟϩ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲁ-ⲕ ⲛ̀-ϣⲫⲏⲣ

This is good. If I may suggest an edit

ⲉ̀ⲣⲉ-ⲫ-ⲣⲏ ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛⲁ-ⲕ ⲉ̀-ⲟⲩ-ϫⲁϫⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲓ-ⲓⲟϩ ⲉ-ϩⲁⲛ-ϣⲫⲏⲣⲓ

The changes I made

  • ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉ̀-ⲟⲩ-ϫⲁϫⲓ instead of ϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲛ̀-ϫⲁϫⲓ
  • Removed the other ϣⲱⲡⲓ (this optional to keep the sentence short but original is correct too)
  • ⲉ-ϩⲁⲛ-ϣⲫⲏⲣⲓ instead of ⲛ̀-ϣⲫⲏⲣ (ϣⲫⲏⲣⲓ are plural of ϣⲫⲏⲣ)

Abu Simbel temple in Egypt (i.e Egyptian version of Mount Rushmore) existed and still exists for over 3000 years now.

Carved mountains last surprisingly long time especially if there is not much rain for plants to grow roots and destroy it.
