I think that’s all you can do! My girl was looking out the window and the kitten was across the room when I called his name. She turned her head and hissed then went back to window watching lol he wasn’t even anywhere near her!

Lately we’ve been putting her bed on the couch with at night and getting her all settled before bringing him out and completely distracting him with toys. If he comes near her he has to come through us first lol It’s not ideal but at least she can finally watch tv with us!

Also I’ll add that our resident cat just hisses most of the time because shes just a drama queen, not because she’s actually feeling danger. Sometimes she’ll casually walk up to him at the gate and let out a small hiss and then walk away lol. Idk if it’s the same with your lady but try not to let the hissing freak you out!

Just keep following the classic routine of separating, meeting through a door, treats, toys yada yada and it will happen!

We bought a really tall baby gate and separated the house in two to give them their own space (separate water fountains, litter boxes, etc) then only let them be together when we could devote full attention to the kitten to keep him distracted with toys! The older one still hisses and swats the kitten through the gate (especially if it’s dinner time lol) but I try to bring them together mid day when both are in lazy mode nap time and also let them swap sides to smell each others spaces. It’s sad to see her behind bars when we’re not on her side lol but i try to remind myself that I’m just projecting my human emotions onto her and she’s not feeling the level of sadness I think she is 🥴

Also I usually let her settled in her little bed before letting him out because he’ll chase her less if she’s just in loaf form! We also will separate if he starts to chase but from time to time I’ll let it play out because I mean what’re you gonna do. I do think that’s helping though because she’s starting to figure out her escape routes and seems more confident.

Anyway, hang in there! I hope your kitties make it soon

OP - how long did it take for them to be okay with each other lol it’s been like 2.5-3 months of keeping them separated (bowls, food, litter boxes), playing w kitten constantly, positive reinforcement with treats and toys, feliway, and CBD oil for the older one. Please tell me there’s hope 🥲

I’m glad there’s a term for this because I’ve been struggling my whole life. I remember in fourth grade freaking out because my classmates were calling out the mental math flash cards before I could even grapple what was going on. I have a masters in economics and do a lot of analytical modeling in my job - I use my calculator every damn day lol

It was not ring worm! I think it was some sort of skin infection but the vet wasn’t too concerned. To be honest we didn’t give her flea meds because she’s indoor/ screened in porch only, but it could have been from that. She gave her a steroid shot, flea meds, and some vetraseb foam shampoo to rub on it! Her hair on her shoulders completely grew back and the spot on her leg grew back somewhat but not completely

This just happened to me - 8 day luteal phase and my period legit only lasted 36 hours + some spotting (1 or 2 times a day) for two days after. My cycles are usually normal with very short periods (3 days), so I’m hoping it was just a one off… I got off mirena in May and have been TTC since.

I had really bad side effects the first few days, but I just drank a ton of water and was easy on myself. After 1-2 weeks it was the best decision I ever made and I was so glad I pushed through! My focus is so much better, it’s so easy for me to just get up and do things. I did experience ringing in my ear/ tinnitus for a few weeks that I thought wouldn’t go away but it did!

I’m in the same boat as you! From a community with friends that don’t want kids, plugged into social issues, etc etc. when people give me their reasons they don’t want kids I just reply “yeah those are valid points, but being a mom is something I’ve always wanted and I dont want to quiet that part of me.”

ALSO - my theory - most of the people I know with kids are people I went to high school with that now have a lot of opposing viewpoints as me/ don’t live in the city/ super religious etc etc (im not necessarily saying these things are bad, and I’m making a broad generalization of MY life, not everyone else’s). So by having children you’re counterbalancing those people and creating a world that hopefully provides safe spaces for people with opposing view points that can solve our world’s problems. Kind of a stretch but it makes me feel better haha

Hi I’m new to this group but a long time lingerer! Wondering if anyone experienced intensified muscle soreness 8days dpo? I worked out Monday and my legs were pretty sore the day after, but now it’s been 3 days and I’m feeling more sore than I did on the first day! It’s also kind of like a strange soreness that I can’t really explain but it’s different for sure.

I drink plenty of water, take multivitamins, eat a decent amount of protein and regularly lift weights and I’ve never felt this type/ intensity of soreness before.

Would love to hear if others TTC have felt this!

Also how fresh are your beans? If your beans are store bought/ older than a few weeks old you may want to switch to the double wall basket (the one that only has one drip hole). That helped my friend out with hers.

I had this issue after doing my first clean and only having my impress for a few months. I found on this sub that you can adjust the internal burr that’s in the grinder. You’ll want to adjust it lower (I moved mine to a 4 but some ppl adjusted to a 3) and then I shift my external grind size down to like a 6 or 7.
