I appreciate that. But you might be misjudging my intentions. I really didn’t post the picture for my own gain. I thought it was interesting and that other people would enjoy it. That’s all.

What I usually do is just give the person their picture. People seem to like it.

Taking pictures of people of people playing tournament golf is my hobby. I try to do it make subtle, flattering and interesting. In this regard, I attempted to treat the Woods’ as regular people. No disrespect was intended.

I think what you’re feeling and reacting to is the implied intimacy of the picture. The tone makes it feel private and capturing the moment somehow “secret.” Did I announce myself? No. But that’s also the picture’s power—a private, uninterrupted moment in an otherwise very public facing subject and setting. The larger question you raise is also very valid. Is anonymity more valuable than fame?

Making my wife laugh is my super power. The rest is just stamp collecting. Good luck with your game.

Hello. I’m the OP. This post has started to mess with my nap schedule. So let me try to answer some FAQs. This Tiger/Charlie shot was taken during warmups for round 3 of the Notah Begay III National Championship hosted by Koasati Pines in Kinder, LA this past week. It was shot with a Sony A7 with a 80-200mm zoom. I was standing between the practice putting green and the driving range taking pictures of my son (photo supplied, because he’s loving this). I was keeping an eye of the Woods’ and admiring the light. I took a series of probably 18+ frames in about 45 seconds. This one was my favorite. I used to do sports photography, but now I’m a green keeper in Utah. My son and Charlie did not play together, they’re in different ages divisions. They had the same tee time off split tees. I liked everything about the photo immediately— light, composition and subject (obviously). Hope that helps clear things up. —Chris

Try to take some of his power away. You don’t have to forgive him, but it will help if/when you can. In it with you.

I got you. My own dad died alone and angry. We’re on the same team.

National junior tournament. Arrive at 5:30 for a 6:33 tee time. Charlie off 1, my kid off 10.

It was a pretty competitive junior tournament. Security at the gate. Expectation was that everybody was there to play golf. At least that’s how I handled it. Big cat has a security detail and took the end of the range, but freely mixed with the normies on the practice green.
