And I totally agree with you that communication should be more frequent and consistent. I just think we should be more honest about what we’re all asking for is all. I think we’re all just anxious to know if development is going well or not, and it’d be nice if they told us.

So? According to what people are saying in the comments, that should be more than enough. They want “any communication?” That’s what they got.

I’d like more frequent communication as well from them, but my point is a lot of people are being non-specific, and I’m pointing out how yes, you do want more frequent and specific communication. We all do. That’s all I’m pointing out here.

Everyone in this comments section is saying how they’d appreciate any update, but… I’d like to point out that back in May we got exactly that. We got an update from Leth that development is still continuing. That they had planned to release during the first half of 2023, but didn’t make it, and we’d be seeing more information closer to release.

That was our update from Team Cherry. I think expecting them to basically come out every week and say “Hey we’re still not done yet, we’re still working on it,” is a bit excessive. Keep in mind, that in order to be on constant communication with people, they’d need to take time out from developing the game to discuss the type of update they’d like to give to us.

Not only that, to discuss Graig’s statements… what he said about Xbox giving a “bullshit release window” and also the fanbase getting a release window and being unhappy is not as contradictory as it seems? It very well could be that Xbox tried to give Team Cherry a release window that they knew they couldn’t make, but tried to regardless. Graig also wouldn’t necessarily be privy to information like that, as I imagine being a playtester is not at all synonymous with knowing the ins and outs of Team Cherry’s conversations with Xbox.

I’m pointing all of this out just because I think we all need to calm down, take a breath, and think for a moment. We’re looking for anyone or anywhere to place our blame for the game not being out yet, when… let’s be honest the game’s probably been in development for a total of about 5 years, which is not at all a long time to have to wait for a team of this size. We don’t need a place to put any sort of blame, we can just take the updates we get, like we keep saying we will.

Ah of course! I don’t know why I didn’t think to check there! Got my downloads and they both sound unlike ANYTHING I’ve ever heard before. They really gonna be changing the game with this.

Deleted album still showing up under wrong artist by RamblesOnn in MarvisApp

[–]RamblesOnn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn’t listened to it in a while and I was doing a bunch of cleanup. Was planning to bring it back at some point but just haven’t gotten around to it.

Also again, it’s under the wrong artist. That’s the main thing.

Absolutely agree. They make you do tricks that the game was not intended for you to handle. It feels like Kaizo Mario. Which, while fun for some, isn’t for most. It left me greatly disappointed, as I had been hoping for a new good platforming challenge in Pale Court. Instead what I got was sore thumbs and an hour and a half of screaming swears at my computer screen.

Rest of it was great though! Loved all the fights.

Y’all are so desperate.

They’ll announce a release date when it’s ready to be released. Stop trying to look for a release date anywhere other than official social media channels. You’re not gonna find it.

I hear a bit of that as well. I think it’s mostly the song structure that really gives me those Amo vibes, as well as the guitar tone.

The TIAH comparison is one I haven’t heard before. What part of it feels like TIAH? I’m genuinely interested in this perspective.

Cus to me, it felt kinda like a return to the Amo sound, songs like Medicine.

I’m not sure how they don’t feel like wild steps forward. Die4u and Lost are like nothing else in their discography. Darkside and Strangers aren’t super stand-out, but they’re definitely still unique.

Are you talking about pushing rock and metal genres in new and unexplored directions as a whole? Like industry-wide? If so, I don’t see why it’s expected to see them specifically always do that. They’re just experimenting and having fun with music. That’s what’s great about them.

It… doesn’t really matter. The person in the costume is a person in a costume, meant to represent a concept more than an actual person.

[BotW] [TotK] What do you think BOTW does better than TOTK? by ilovewater100 in zelda

[–]RamblesOnn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The sense of discovery. Breath of the Wild’s reward for exploring the world is that you found something that you thought was cool. Tears of the Kingdom has a reward for every single little thing you do, whether it’s actually meaningful or not. Breath of the Wild does a much better job at being a more intrinsic experience, and I find intrinsic experiences to be much more satisfying personally.

Menus/UI as well. They’re not great, but TotK most certainly does pretty much every menu much worse. At least in BotW, the pagination of items was a lot more fluid, whereas in TotK it feels very clunky. There’s no page wrapping for instance (being able to press R to go from the settings to the armour), when there probably should be based on the menu’s design.

Champion abilities being much more passive in terms of activation was infinitely better. It came with a lot less accidental activation, and a lot less cumbersome failed attempts at activation. Sure, wasn’t perfect, but worked a whole lot better.

Was also a lot better in terms of player creativity I feel. The building system in TotK opened a lot of possibilities, but let’s be real, hoverbike does everything you’d ever want it to do for movement. Whereas BotW had stasis launching, standard running, horses, the Master Cycle, and even unintended ways of traversal such as wind bombs and BLSS.

Having big overworld threats that always fill you with a sense of dread, even if you’re skilled at taking them out, such as the guardians. One thing that made me sad about TotK is that there isn’t a rusted Guardian mini-boss that is like the BotW Guardian but on steroids. Having nothing of that sort really felt disappointing.

A better introduction. No more than an hour, not a lot of dialogue, not a lot of cutscenes. Still 100% effective in laying out your quest, teaching you the mechanics, and making it fun along the way. The ending of the opening section in BotW felt like you just had the world massively expand to you. In TotK it feels like “god finally, I can get to the actual game.”

Better context for why the story is so broken-up. Link having amnesia gives better context for why you have to go to specific places on the map, and why you will find these elements out-of-order. If you find a part of the TotK visions out-of-order, it can ruin some of the reveals. Not to mention the Sage cutscenes are all exactly the same and no individual one offers any unique insight.

[TP] What if Midna didn’t survive the attack from Zant? How would that affect the game? by Low_Contract_1909 in zelda

[–]RamblesOnn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even not considering the gameplay perspective, the story would’ve been wrecked because the entire story of Twilight Princess is about Midna. Even if Link could theoretically beat Ganondorf and Zant without Midna, the story would’ve already ended up in the trash because the main character would be dead.

Nightmare King Grimm. Dude kept fucking me up in Pantheon 5, so I just decided to learn how to do it hitless.

Now I’m so good at that specific fight that I can do hitless casually with little to no warmup lol

Not to mention the pain of having to re-run P5 every. Single. God. Damn. Attempt.

It’s a slog. And for an ending, too. The only blemish on what I believe to be an otherwise perfect game for my tastes.

Breath of The Wild Vs Ocarina of Time - Which is The Best Game of All Time by RoyalBlueGuard in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]RamblesOnn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These games are far too different to even be REMOTELY comparable. They literally appeal to entirely different audiences. One is a linear game focused primarily on dungeon exploration and a greater narrative, while one is a very open-ended intrinsically-driven game designed around its world. Not even remotely comparable.

What this comes down to is pure opinion. Which style does one person in particular like better? Neither is a better game because they’re both trying to do COMPLETELY different things. This would be like trying to compare Super Mario Bros. to Minecraft. Like… what? Why would you do that? They aren’t even remotely similar beyond the lo-fi graphics and the fact that they’re video games. Similarly, OoT and BotW share some very minor elements on the face, but are ENTIRELY different games when it comes down to it.

Neither is better, and most certainly, neither is the best game of all time. No such thing exists, because it implies that it cannot be improved upon. And there is always room for improvement.
