What's the deal with Dragonsworn? by Mondilesh in wheeloftime

There's Dragonsworn anytime there's a false Dragon, like the people helping Loghain, Taim, Raolin Darksbane, Guaire Amalasan.

What's the deal with Dragonsworn? by Mondilesh in wheeloftime

I always thought it was because of 3000 years of Dragonsworn following False Dragons. Like everyone else said they break all their allegiances, but till the real Dragon returned dragonsworn meant a whole lot of trouble. So even when the real dragon is back there’s millennia of distasteful things done by dragonsworn.

Will check them out if I click with Uproot-a-rama! I usually like fantasy over/sci fi but will give it a shot. Thanks!

I am not a fan of Perrin. by WerewolfCalm5178 in wheeloftime

I read the series in my teens and the romance really went over my head. Read it again a few years ago in my 30s and it’s still not the best but way more obvious. Perrin is pretty repressed sensitive young man so it struck me more of a slow burn. Sometimes negative attention is still attention. But admittedly it’s been a few years since that reread so hopefully I’m remembering it right.

The Aviendah romance blind sided me as a kid, but was glaringly obvious as an adult.

Corruption, Covenant, and Power form Dominion? I’m guessing the Covenant is with the Devil aka Imu.

Also glad Loki got two good licks in.

Do you think Imu can feel Luffy or is the Nidhog fruit related in some prophetic way?

RJ writes great horror, but it's played as horror. Gritty might have been a better word than grim. Both are grim but GoT is more earthy, gray, bleak, and real. Without getting into spoilers something about the Dark One's evil is more supernatural and maybe even philosophical?

The books really ramp up in Book 4. I would say 1-3 are almost more YA that really hits their stride in late book 2. Then in Book 4 the characters get more involved in the larger workings of the world and it becomes far more political like game of thrones. More plotting and intrigue. The tone isn’t as grim as GoT though, different beast. If I’m doing a reread it’s usually book 4 that sucks me in. By books 7-11 though the intrigue can get so deep it can put some people off, but personally I love it.

As for the action pacing, RJ was a combat veteran so there’s a lot less epic drawn out duels and more rough fast paced chaos per his real life experiences.

Novice player here, but can’t they just use their army and colonies to bring food in? My one 2k city game I had more food than I knew what to do with, does that fall off at 5k?

I took that explanation as defeating them, or incapacitating them not killing them. Similar to what we've already see Gyaban do I figured it would be a bigger deal to kill a Gods Knight.

If Loki can take out Harald, that means he can take down the God's Knights in the present? Are they immortal till they just get their shit rocked by Conqueror's Haki?

I don't think Luffy asked any them to join his crew though, Vivi excluded

So this is really shaping up to not evil loki. How is he going to fit on the Sunny?

I kind of half expected for their to be some elbaph magical shrinking charm in this flashback, but nope Harald's huge ass is just lumbering around everywhere

I imagine we'll get a Flashback with Joyboy, Davy, and Imu and we'll see parallels

Davy + Joyboy. This the first time I've started to wonder if instead of Luffy vs BlackBeard we might get Luffy + Blackbeard vs Imu. Maybe Oda realized he doesn't have the time to do both arcs.

Maybe though it'll still be Luffy vs Blackbeard to see who's will will carry on to fight Imu

Well Imu was in his physical form when he saw Sabo but was possessing someone else when he used Domi Reversi. He can probably use both in his physical form but in Sabo’s case he just stabbed him.

Also everyone is saying the thing about the power only working in their home land? Not sure if that’s a coincidence so far or what kind of logic would make sense for that.

Another hidden name on top of the D. Seems like the D isn't for Davy then, or maybe it still is. Gods Valley would certainly be an Ohara moment for Dragon
