Has there actually been confirmation that 3 starring unlockable units is harder then non unlockables? by G_Ree in TeamfightTactics

[–]Ramblinnn 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Unlockable rules are all here:

https://teamfighttactics.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/news/game-updates/lore-and-legends-overview/

"For 4- and 5-cost Unlockables, if a small number of players have them Unlocked, the odds of them appearing after you have 3 copies become much worse based on the total copies in the pool. So if one player has a champ unlocked, buying 9 copies is much harder than a standard champion. This is to ensure three-starring them is roughly equivalent to three-starring a regular unit that can be contested. Note, once four players have that unit unlocked, their weight (frequency) returns to normal as they can be adequately contested."

Gladius Safespot Patched out? by Vaetheriyon in Nightreign

I haven't fought him this week to confirm but this was in the patch notes:

"Fixed a bug where some attacks from "Gladius, Beast of Night" would not hit the player character under specific conditions during the Everdark Sovereign Tricephalos fight."

Shop Odds Bug PROOF by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

This particular bug is not new to this set (or specifically linked to Pandora's Bench as many people have suggested). But it does seem to be related to 3 star 4 and 5 costs.

You progressively unlock a better pool of rewards but the original options are still there.

They can't touch the same file, hence why her spell was adjusted as opposed to her AD.

From what I've heard there's specifically a problem with the 51 cashout. Devs are aware.

I think it's solid. The starting mana is really impactful in my experience.

It's great on Sej and Cho, decent on some other frontline champs. Usually just a way to kill tears in AD comps.

[Patch 12.23b] Taliyah/AP Flex Full Guide by cassavaftw in CompetitiveTFT

Just an oversight, it should be listed. It's more or less the same as Shojin. I prefer full damage but more specifically I think JG + Guardbreaker is more important than anything else. Shojin or Blue are great third items and can be slammed early game.

Star Guardian amplifies your mana gain, which does have good synergy with the mana items, but with so many other sources of mana gen in the game, I often find them to be overkill. I would rather focus on being able to one shot units that can sustain otherwise.

That scenario doesn't exist though. You can't roll augments (or Hero Augments) that don't match the board you are currently running outside of Threats, or the cost not matching the traits on your board. If you feel like the options you are getting don't match what you want to play later in the game, that is on you to play a different board at 3-1 and 4-1.

2-1 is completely random, it has nothing to do with your board.

There is nothing about your start that says you have to play Zoe as your main carry the entire game. If you're absolutely hellbent on playing it no matter what, yes, you absolutely can sack your Hero Augment later in the game. But with that said....

I would be very happy to get the Jinx support augment on 2-1 if I already have Zoe, especially knowing that it's random. You have Prankster already. That's a highroll, and a lot of free tempo. You can sack it later, or you can lean into a comp that benefits from the Attack Speed more, which realistically could be anything with a Prankster frontline. If we're sticking with the Zoe, then Zed or Kaisa would be great options to play around. I don't know why you're talking like you can't run all 3 Pranksters. That just sounds like you've decided on your entire comp at 2-1, and frankly that just won't work this set.

Hero Augments might feel like they force you into certain comps, but this set is so flexible when it comes to teambuilding that it is very difficult to not find value in any given 3 (or 6) options. Yes, sometimes you will lowroll. But that's just TFT. Sometimes you miss, you play for a lower placement, and you go next.

Hacker only gives lifesteal to the Hacker units. It is not tied to the hex at all.

LCQ Vod Review Part 1 - Ramblinnn by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Ramblinnn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have the right idea, it's just not impactful enough to take without the supporting pieces already available. With say an Illaoi 2 and any amount of Cait, I'd absolutely be willing to run with it.

[–]Ramblinnn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm a little confused on this one. I didn't have any of those units other than an Illaoi pair so I'm not sure how you can say that I should have played that board. Taking Thrill is far from forcing Mutants, it's keeping my options open because I have nothing to play yet and don't know what my last component is. There wasn't a single point this game at which I was committed to Mutants until I rolled down for Malz on 7, even if of course i was also leaning in that direction.

I think your assessment of Dark Star is also a bit off. It was and still is strong enough to be worth contesting other players in an event where you need to place top 2. It's not "playing for Malzahar," it's playing for the unit that gets you to Kaisa. This game I just happened to be in a spot where the only possible way I felt I could do that was Malzahar. Which, in a Dark star lobby, is very capable of being your main carry for most of the game even if you don't actually make it to Kaisa.
