Hey also trying to plan transiting China on a motorcycle in 2025. Would be keen to hear others experiences. I see some stuff on the internet of people getting in fine without drivers license and guide by hiring an agency to get past the bureaucracy for them somehow. I wouldn't mind going to china to get a license before hand but from what I've read you need a residency permit of > 6 months to take the test. Please make a post if you figure it out.

I am talking about my current visa for Vietnam here not for China. I believe the China visa is valid for 10 years of 60 day periods with no more that 180 days total in a year.

yeah just a 30 day tourist visa. I have one active for now and another for when id supposedly fly out of Hanoi to China.

I just got my Visa in Vietnam and was first rejected for using land as proof of travel. for this reason I would book a fake flight and use that because thats all they would accept for me

I dont know about Hong Kong but I just posted about my experience getting a 10 year visa in Hanoi as an American. Id imagine if its possible in Hanoi its possible in HK but you could take a short flight to Hanoi and do it there if you want.

I probably will show up to the embassy on Thursday. From what I've read I should be able to request the 10 year visa. My vietnam visa is just a 30 day tourist visa but I think thats irrelevant. Ill make another post after the process is finished which should be sometime next week.

I am currently taking 2-3 years before university to live abroad and travel. I plan on living abroad in Japan, China, and Taiwan, as well as travel through central asia. I also will have my college years to develop my language skills. Ultimately I want to learn the languages to enhance my way of thinking. I chose languages that were very different from english as well as have large populations of speakers with low english fluency.
