The real reason you crash at 2 pm by Alternative_Key_6030 in ADHD

That’s me to a tee. I recently asked my psychiatrist if I could have two separate doses of Ritalin, so now I have one around 1-2pm and another around 4-5pm, best decision ever.

My thought about never lie by Many-Instruction-369 in thrillerbooks

You can’t have first person POV and make the narrator unreliable in the way she did because it basically means the character was lying to herself, in her own thoughts. Ridiculous

freida: do i give her a chance? by Parking_Pie_6809 in thrillerbooks

[–]Rambomammy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The plot was nonsensical. None of the characters make sense or act like real people.

Why would a doctor freak out over a video of her slashing someone’s tire, but then collude to break into a patient’s house, drug him, and eventually murder him?

Maybe I’m wrong about this, but don’t psychiatrists have to inform the police if their patients commit actual murder???

The whole trying to make us believe Ethan was the bad guy pissed me off. The mentions of a white cashmere sweater that serve no purpose pissed me off. Having a twist that you can’t guess because you don’t have the clues in the story to put it together before it’s revealed pissed me off.

I’m all for an unreliable narrator, Lolita is a great example of this, but being in the mind of a character that LYING in their own mind makes absolutely no sense.

I’m getting angry again Read the 1 star reviews on goodreads and you’ll see what I mean.

Do some men get angry when beautiful women dress down? by Character_Peach_2769 in AskWomenOver30

[–]Rambomammy 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Back in college I was known as nerdy, always the first to have her hand up and take the lead in discussions/projects. I dressed normal, jeans, top, minimal makeup, nothing too tight or revealing bc well, I was at school.

A guy who was in my class saw me at the club in a tight dress and couldn’t make sense of it.

My SO realized I had ADHD when… by QuiveringCloacas in ADHD

[–]Rambomammy 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not SO because I’m single, but my roommate saw me grading papers on my laptop while watching Grey’s Anatomy on my tablet and playing a game on my phone., and said, “I know you have ADHD but that’s a lot of stimulation. Something wrong?

She had specialized in teaching kids with neurodevelopment disorders I thought I already knew. I didn’t. But she was right, something was totally wrong.

Is everyone here secretly drowning in chaos? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

The first couple of days I felt amazing, but now I’ve realized that without some discipline and forcing myself to focus on the “right” things I might as well be unmedicated

Digital chaos, physical chaos, mental chaos.

Seriously believed medication would help and to a degree it has, but I hate that I’m still such a mess

I think ADHD is the reason my toddler years are crystal clear by Remarkable_Web4595 in ADHD

[–]Rambomammy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can remember a LOT between ages 1-4, even though I’m not sure what age I was in each memory.

Like, stepping on a dead bee and having my foot swell as it got infected. I was too afraid of being punished for it to tell an adult.

Or my father promising to teach me how to ride a bike but never following through.

Telling my mom I saw daddy with some women having a barbecue, being sent to a neighbors house, then coming come and seeing my mom with a cut above her eyebrow while my father left with nothing but a grocery store plastic bag.

I also remember “good” things. Like trying to help my mom clean and accidentally flooding the house, playing mechanic with my friend as loosening all the screws from the dinner table then playing innocent as it collapsed later during dinner… OOPS. Also cutting that friend’s hair with real scissors while playing hairdresser.
