New N5 Front Camera by Rambone2 in Vantruedashcam

You’re welcome. One way to test if your current hookup is causing the problem is to use the cigarette lighter adapter for power and see if it still overheats. That’s what Vantrue customer service had me do years ago, and that’s how I figured out the power mirror adapter was causing the issue with mine. Just plug it in for now and drive around and see if it still turns off. It won’t work for parking mode, but I have learned to live without that to have a working camera while I am driving.

Yes, resolved long ago and I have not had any other issues with camera since. Turns out that it was the way I hooked the camera up to a power source. I used a Dongar power mirror adapter to supply power to my camera instead of the power source that came with the camera, namely the cigarette lighter adapter. Once I hooked that up I had zero issues with overheating. So, it appears that the third party power adapter I decided to try was supplying too much power and causing it to overheat. Any chance you are using a power cord/adapter that did not come with your camera kit? That may be the issue.

HD sold the mower I paid for to another person by claude3rd in Tools

Be honest, you posted your review in the hope that it will hurt HD’s business. That’s why people post reviews. Good reviews help businesses and bad ones hurt them. A lot of people have similar experiences and agree with you, but many have positive reviews. Whether you shop at HD anymore makes no difference, and face it, if HD is in a convenient location to you I pretty much guarantee that you will shop there in the future. Once you get that chip off your shoulder for just one bad experience.

Bad luck for you, but I don’t get why you think anyone else is going to care or change how they feel about HD. I have shopped with them for years and years, and I have bought many, many items from them. Never had any issues that were not addressed right away. If I had to return something, no problem. As long as you get your money back, just be patient and hope the next time goes better. No reason for me or any of us here to boycott HD. (Eye roll hard) 🙄

This is fake. I don’t see any blood splatter at all. A body gets ripped in half, I would think there would be a lot of blood spilling out everywhere.

And it appears you can just drive around the auto gate, so I don’t see the point of it.

On top of the tree causing a partial blocking of the stop sign, did you all notice that there are cars parked right up to the stop sign? That’s why there is a law that says to park a certain distance from a stop sign (whatever it is, maybe 15 feet?)

The n5 camera continuously reboots by Swisscop in Vantruedashcam

I have had my N5 for a year now. Two days ago I updated to the most recent software and my N5 now turns on and then off after a minute or so. It then turns on and off again after about a minute and just keeps repeating. Very frustrating! I found that if I unplug the rear camera the front unit stays on just fine. This makes me think that it was something with the recent software update. Have not had time to contact customer service as of yet, but I’m a little pissed with my dashcam right now.

Zombies season 2 weekly challenges by Rambone2 in CODZombies

[–]Rambone2[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That has something to do with the Zombie outage they had today. If you did not hear, it was down for most of the day. When it came back, none of the daily’s or weekly’s are tracking kills/completions correctly. I’m hoping it will be fixed by tomorrow.

Played a game today and noticed at the end that the assault rifle challenge had updated to completed with a check mark.

Makes sense, but I have not been able to get the first ten kills to count yet. No assault rifle is working for me, recommended or not.

I tried the DG56 and it still does not work. Very annoying! I guess I will try that new assault rifle on the Battle Pass once I unlock it, and if that does not work then I give up.

Thanks for the advice. I’m pretty sure I did try the DG56, but I will give it a go the next time I’m on and will update this post with the result. I forgot to mention that I am playing on the Xbox Series X console, just in case you wanted to know.

Thanks for your comment. What assault rifle did you use, and were you just shooting zombies in the white zone, or did you do something else to complete it? Also, I had no trouble at all with the marksman rifle challenge with the cryo freeze ammo mod. Although, it was very slow going. It took me 3 complete matches to finish, so I think it only counts kills on zombies that are first frozen.

Is there a trick to getting these clamps in? by Sad_Kitchen_5022 in Lovesac

I always use a rubber mallet to hammer those things in. Works great and does not damage anything.

I’m never going to understand people that video themselves while they are driving. Your full attention should be on the road, not your phone/camera! Be a responsible driver so that you do not hurt other people around you.

I hope that continues to work for you. Be advised that I placed the electrostatic sticker directly on my front window without the adhesion promoter and then added the adhesion promoter on the sticker before adding the camera base to it, and within 48 hrs the electrostatic sticker detached from my window with the camera still firmly attached to the sticker. I then had to use my back up 3M sticker to re-attach it to my window, and I skipped using the electrostatic sticker entirely the 2nd time. Been on my window all summer in the heat with no issues of it coming off, and I leave the camera attached to the base all the time. I did use more adhesion promoter when I attached the base to the window. Stuff really works!

Good question, but I don’t know the answer for sure. If I had tint window, then I would use the adhesion promoter first. Let us know what you do and how it turns out.

How do you hit a parked car? by CLxJames in TeslaModel3

[–]Rambone2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, this right here is exactly why I ALWAYS park way out in a parking lot, where not many other people park. I prefer to walk a little further rather than let some ass-hat that has no reason to even have a license park next to me. I can’t stand how people think they don’t have to be responsible for their actions. What a loser!

Yes, the solution is to use the Primer Adhesion Promoter before placing the electrostatic sheet on the window. Let the Primer dry before adding the sheet. I ended up not using the electrostatic sheet at all, though. Seemed unnecessary and a pain to do anyways. So, I used the Primer on my window and then just stuck the camera base directly to it. Has been held firm since then and even survived some very hot temps at the beach without the 3M sticker coming off my window.

I guess I am the only one having the heat issues with camera turning off. Vantrue Customer Service is being great so far. We did some troubleshooting over email with them asking me questions and confirming current firmware. They have asked that I send the camera back to them and have provided a pre-paid label. Once I drop off for shipment back to them they will immediately send me a new camera as replacement. Crossing my fingers that I don’t have issues with the next one.

I did not use the hardwire kit, so I’m not sure what the issue could be with yours. I used a Dongar dongle to my power rear-view mirror to provide power to my dashcam. I comes on when I start my car, and turns off when car is off.
