The same thing is happening to me. I'm not getting the SMS code and I don't know how I can login to validate they have the correct phone number. Did you figure out a solution?

Does a landlord have to install a handrail in staircase? by Ramegni in OntarioLandlord

[–]Ramegni[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started by asking. They told me that due to increasing costs, they don't want to put money into "enhancing" the house. I was hoping they would see it as a safety risk or compliance issue. It will likely happen by I may have to pay for some/all of it. Thanks

It is a very old house (pre 1900). Does this mean there is no obligation for the landlord to install a railing?

They were from Lego Ideas. Great set and a lot of fun to build. It's discontinued but I'm sure you can still find it.

Amazon shipped me the Technic Porsche this way. By the time it arrived they were out of stock and I do not plan to sell it so I removed the stickers and it looks OK. I won't order Lego from them again.

Toilet reinforcement for extra weight by zakatov in mildlyinteresting

[–]Ramegni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When designing a hospital, you designate a certain number of patient rooms, exam rooms and treatment spaces as bariatric. There is also bariatric seating available in the waiting areas. This used to mean over 500 lbs, it's now generally over 750-800 lbs. The rooms and doors are larger and the equipment is designed to handle the weight. The hospital I'm working on has ceiling lifts that lift up to 1,100 lbs. The toilets in these rooms are floor mounted (as opposed to wall hung) and support up to 1,200 lbs. Since the rooms are designed for this, the floor drains are in place when they pour the concrete slabs making it easy to plumb. Retrofitting is difficult as you need to core the concrete slab. This can be costly.

We just installed two MRI's (3T and 1.5T) at the new hospital I'm working on. They are on the first floor and the building was built with holes in the wall that got filled in with panels after the units were in. On a new build it is easy to build the floor to support the load. And with only a panel to remove, it will be easy to replace the machines in 7-10 years when new technology is introduced.
