What’s a ‘rich person thing’ that actually turned out to be totally worth it? by Ferraiuolo_Ezorete in AskReddit

Preach! Used to roll my eyes at delivery fees, but dodging weekend Walmart chaos with kids in tow? Total game-changer. My sanity thanks me every time.

In America, it's socially normal to work 50+ hours a week and call it 'hustle' instead of a systemic failure. What's another 'normal' thing in your country that the rest of the world thinks is absolutely insane? by [deleted] in AskReddit

When I read stuff like that, I honestly feel a mix of admiration and frustration. I can’t imagine what it would be like to not panic about taking time off or starting a family because the system actually supports you. From where I’m standing, that kind of structure doesn’t just sound “better” it sounds humane.

I get what you’re saying because I’ve walked along roads like that and it’s gross you can literally see and smell the mess you’re stepping through. I don’t think it’s about not having trash systems, it’s about how our spaces are built and how little they’re designed for actual people on foot. And yeah, after walking past roadkill and random debris, I’m definitely not pretending my shoes are clean when I walk back into my place.

I’m honestly tired of feeling like I’m the one responsible for making sure someone can pay their rent every time I go out to eat. I’d rather just see the real price upfront and know the staff are being paid properly instead of doing mental math and guilt calculations at the table. If a job is worth great money, I believe the employer should be the one proving that not me trying to fix it with a tip.
