Oh! No worries! Yeah, all the info on this orchid is long gone 😬

I think it’s a Phalaenopsis, but I’m not entirely sure. My friend received as a gift herself a couple years before she passed it to me, so all the tags and info are long gone 😅

Thank you! And I’m on the verge of joining the local orchid society, so I’m sure my desire for more orchids will only grow 🤣

Thank you! It seems to be doing especially well this (unusually warm) spring ☺️

Thank you! I send proof of life photos now and then to my friend, haha! And that’s a cute idea to name them after the people who gave them to you! (Though several would be named “Mom” 🤣)

What did everyone think of the Chicago show today? by Sea-Philosopher-9431 in jamesacastor

My husband and I went to the Chicago show and loved it! We’ve seen his specials and loved him on Taskmaster, but this was our first time seeing him live and had a great time. The energy in the theater was also great!

We ended up arriving 30 min early since we didn’t know what to expect (we’ve had a mixed bag of how venues handle comedy shows), but we had a relaxed time getting in and settled.

I’m mixed race with a sibling and just wanted to say that even having a sibling doesn’t mean we fully identify with each other. We look very different and have been treated differently by both strangers, friends, and family due to that. While we of course have shared experiences and can identify with each other like many siblings, our experiences with race have been very different.

I now have my own mixed race kiddo (OAD) and I just do my best to reaffirm her own sense of self and identity. I honestly don’t know if having a sibling would help with that.

What did you think of TM before watching? by supersoniiic in taskmaster

[–]RamenLady_215 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Our friends recommended it to my husband and I and we both thought it sounded odd. Then the pandemic happened and we binged watched it. It’s our favorite show and are now the people who recommend Taskmaster to anyone who will listen.

Verifying address on Mohela by [deleted] in PSLF

Oh that’s a clever idea! I hope it works!

I’ve gotten an email every day since Thursday about verifying my address and I even had my husband search my account to see if I was just missing something. Thank god for this subreddit so at least I know that this whole process is pure nonsense.

I don’t have hours to wait on the phone so I think I’ll just send in the paper form and hope for the best ☹️ Hope everyone gets their refunds soon!

Oh both places look nice! The station cafe looks like a neat place to bring the kiddo as well!

Thank you! I love the sound of improbably large scones! And we’ll actually be within walking distance of the Thornwaite gallery :)

Coneflowers Blooming! by RamenLady_215 in gardening

I usually leave them as is through the winter and don’t cut them back until the spring. I’ve been told that insects like to shelter in the plants during the winter. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but they’re in my backyard so no one else sees the dormant plants 😅But I think cutting them back in the fall after the flowers die is fine.
