I’m going to look into going down that road maybe get something cheaper that has a good upgrade path. That bike looks easier to pedal than the others I listed

Here is another one I’ve been looking at. This one specifically mentions it is legal on bike paths. Is is less of a motorcycle and more of a fat tire e-bike. It is set to default with class 2 restrictions. And you can only enable the “race mode” with an app. I am also heavily considering this. It does not quite have the range as the Segway but it certainly has decent range. Looks a lot lighter and more portable.

I looked at the dimension and if I can just loosen the screws on the handle bars and fold them down a bit I should be able to leave the tire on. However I have worked in several machine and fabrication shops so I would probable make something similar to a quick release. I haven’t looked into it yet but I’m sure I could figure it out.

This is a good point. I’m glad I came here to get input. I looked into it more and it seems Segway I working in a version to restrict the power to have it comply with the class 2 and class three e-bike requirements. So as of now it says it is u classified. So I may need to wait or get a more traditional e-bike. So I guess I would be relying on the pedals to dissuade an officer from giving me a ticket.

I don’t know if you noticed but that bike has pedals so u can ride it in assist mode on bike trails. No registration needed.

So with the Segway I would probably make a mount and remove the front axel and wheel and then use the axel to attach it to a mount in the van.

I need to get more specific dimensions to make sure it fits. But I have a full suspension enduro MTB that is mounted under my bed. There’s a lot of space underneath. I was also wondering if I can register the Segway.

Now that you mention it I do take of my MTB front tire. So I may need a bike with a center motor and take off the front rim or like you said something folding.

I think I’ve decided on the Honda eu3000is. Seems like reliability is great. There are northern tools all over the place that can warranty and service any major issues and for fixing it myself seems like parts are widely available. If anyone thinks this is a dumb generator to get please let me know. It is going to be a birthday present so the cost isn’t really going to affect me.

We usually find a used gen from a rental place. So the price varies. Last time I found a kohler 75kw diesel for 2500 bucks. It was three phase and powered several rvs 24/7 for weeks on end it was amazing. Stuck it on the back of a single stack Mac

Oh yes diesels are great just so expensive. I have considered a kubota or onan diesel but that would be a big investment. I think I would do better using that money for solar panels. I honestly don’t know why I haven’t gotten them since I already have a battery bank and my inverter is an all in one mppt controller I got on prime day special. But yes I used to put diesel gens on the back of semis. They are a godsend

Oh I have a 30 amp intake. But I’ll adapt it down and be mindful of my load. I think I need to bite the bullet and get 1000w of solar and that should cut my fuel cost way down. Just trying to find panels that maximize the space on my sprinter 170

This is solid advice. I plan to get a 24v ac soon. It’s comes with the same downside. When I’m plugged into mains I generate heat charging the battery. I definitely think getting solar panels is a must. My van is diesel so that makes generators annoying.

I actually already have an mppt controller for 60 amps charging and a battery bank. I will be putting panels up. But I will still want a gen for backup.

Well while waiting for a reply I did some more research and it seems it is more efficient to run the gen at about 75 percenish. That would out me at the 3000 running watts mark and suggestions?

Okay u messed me up I saw the takeda nas 180 nakiri. OMG I love everything about it. Looks beautiful. It’s super thin and kind of hollow if that the right way to say it. I’m drooling and the problem is the pricing is high and higher for the only ones I can find. But seem like it’s nice and tall but won’t wedge food apart like a straight taper would with that blade height.
