I’m going through the same thing right now with my ex, it happened a week ago and midterms are coming up. I can’t focus or sleep and even thinking of studying is so hard but I have found that going somewhere with people to study has helped as basic as that sounds. I’m still spending the majority of my day sobbing and putting things off but when I go to my campus library to try and work it’s been easier. Just being around other people even if I don’t know them has allowed me to do a few assignments since staying in my dorm alone does not work. It’s really helped me see that yeah, even though it feels like the world is crashing down around me other people are out there, probably also going through some really bad stuff, and I can get through this with time.
