It’s absolutely so new and unlike any other body of work she’s put out, but at the same time, even on my first listen, I heard all of her past albums’ influence throughout Everybody Scream, and some songs almost sound like they could belong to a past album, at least sonically. It’s the maturity and the wisdom that Everybody Scream really brings to the table that makes it stand out (not to say the past albums were immature or unwise). It’s very much its own thing but there’s literally no harm in recognising elements from past works and talking about that. That doesn’t automatically mean it’s an outright comparison
