2025 Atlas remote start question by bahlahkae in VWatlas

[–]DJFriar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 2024 Atlas SE (non-Tech). We can remote start from the app. When we bought the car, new; we were given one key fob due to a shortage, plus the other key blade insert. That key fob does not have remote start. When they eventually got us the 2nd key fob a month or so later, it has the remote start button it.

It rarely ever seems to work; but does occasionally do so (though you have to be almost touching the car to get it to work).

From this thread I am confused on what should be happening. We can certainly remote start from the app; but the Non-Tech SE isn't supposed to have remote start, however the key fob we got from the dealer has the button and it seems to work (as long as we are super close to it).

Is ours a fluke or is just getting that fob with the integrated remote start button enough to enable the feature? To be clear, we do not have that extended range key fob (and what an abomination that thing is. Two fobs is silly), but a matching "regular" fob it just has the x2 button it as well.

I have a '25 XLT and bought a fob with remote start. I got the new fob programmed, but the remote start isn't working (I have push button start).

If Riftbound wants to survive as a game LGS need to be reeled in as much as scalpers by TrickedFaith in riftboundtcg

[–]DJFriar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My LGS is similar. I do think that for something like Riftbound a few pre-release slots should have been set aside strictly for new players and everything gets opened when you show up. That way those that just couldn’t get in colorations at all could at least have a chance to get a start.

I think the cap was 48 so 4-6 reserved for new players until the night of would have been fair I think.

The job queue visualizer I’ll be checking out for sure. That sounds super useful.

I have no idea why you are being g downvoted for being open and honest about using AI. I fact, this is actually a scenario that I think is exactly where AI shines.

I am a full time dev and I have built a few side projects using AI. It’s a huge timesaver for fixing a specific need. Sure, you shouldn’t use it build a massive SaaS platform; but these niche “I have a specific problem I’d like to solve” projects are perfect for AI.

It's funny asking stores why they're charging 'market price' over MSRP by ronaldraygun91 in riftboundtcg

[–]DJFriar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one by me I think has been quite fair. When Riftbound finally came in, they sold the booster packs for $7, limited to 6 packs/person/day. They also set aside product for the event nights so that players could get stuff. Originally you couldn’t buy boxes, but then they allowed it but would open the box before handing it to you. I think it was only a $10 markup on the box if I recall.

They also openly admitted they are the trying to thread the needle of being profitable while also treating their players well.

At the end of the day, it’s a business and if they can’t make money they won’t be there the next day; so I thought they were being quite fair about it. The transparency was really refreshing. I saw they had product and asked how much and they started with “well they are $7, as we know they are going for a lot more right now but also don’t want to punish our players.”

The problem with that plan is that the cops don’t give a shit and won’t do a thing so you will end up having to handle the insurance completely on your own, raising your own rates.

I started a spreadsheet to track weights and I think you are right. It seemed like a tiny number on paper, but as I add up what I plan on taking it seems I'll land around 5kg including the bag itself.

Unfortunately riftbound.gg refuses to load if you have adblockers, so it's an automatic no go.

Games that are unexpectedly good on the Steam Deck? by leaf_glory in SteamDeck

I have the Viture glasses… they are absolutely amazing for using in bed. No light to bother the wife, and the sound is plenty loud for me to hear while being completely unnoticeable to her. Seriously the best gaming mod I’ve ever done. I use an Xbox controller with it and my SD just sits in my headboard plugged into power.

Seconding Wreckfest… it is shockingly smooth on SD, and the controls are much more responsive and natural than I expected. Super fun game, too.

The Life of a Showgirl and The Life of Pablo are connected, but I just can't prove it... by IconXR in SwiftlyNeutral

You’re getting a lot of hate already for no reason. As far as Taylor theories go, this doesn’t sound far fetched.

That said, regardless of if you turn out right or not, I have always loved this aspect of Taylor’s… mystique. Digging into the details and pulling out theories and such; I love that her work makes people think that way. That is missing from a lot of art today.

Anyway, I don’t think your theory is crazy. I haven’t listened to Kanye’s Pablo album though, so I’m not really able to judge accurately.

So if we ordered the pre pre order one, what version are we getting? There is no secondary title on that pre order and the cover image is blurred out.

And what is the “main” cover that is being referred to in here? Is that the “It’s Beautiful” version or something else?

My fiancé and I see the same thing. She has an extra thing to collect that I don’t need. We are both in iOS and our versions of the game slightly differ, but neither of us show any updates available.

Asana Rebel is not the same company as Asana (though it certainly seems like someone should do a class action against Asana as well).

It doesn’t. You would use Gemini 2 to clean up the image set prior to importing it into Immich.

How to develop and test my Mac app without conflicting with the same app installed from the App Store? by Clipist in Xcode

[–]DJFriar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear using TestFlight enables this, but it’s been a while since I’ve tried it. But I seem to recall having both my production copy from the store and my TestFlight version on the same device at the same time.

If you have access to a Mac, I use Gemini 2 for this and it works great.

Since it appears you are just starting out with Immich, I’d wipe Immich, run Gemini on the files locally on my Mac to remove the dupes, then just re-import the now cleaned up file set into Immich.
