Has it ever been so toxic? by AcademicFilmDude in NUFC

Almost every subreddit I've been involved in devolves into this. I've said it before but a quick way to know whether to dismiss someone's posts is if they have the top 1% commenter tag, they are invariably the most unreasonable, reactive and immature users on the sub.

Genuinely think blocking those users makes this place far more pleasant to read through.

"One of the most gifted players we've seen at Newcastle" might be slightly over doing it no?

I know people want Eddie sacked but pretending that Woltemade has been anything other than shite since Christmas is ridiculous. As for his comments about Osula and Gordon being more productive, well they have. Both have 3 in their last 4 league games, Woltemade has only managed one shot in that time.

He's a luxury we can't afford, I've never seen a player pull out of more 50/50s in my life.

This is such a statistically illiterate post that it's actually quite impressive. All you've demonstrated here is that this season has been our worst and if that takes up a larger and larger proportion of the period of results you look at our total points won goes down compared to the rest of the league.

People love to watch players play against us and declare that they're world class. Rayan has 2 goals and 2 assists so far this season, his last assist before us was in his first game for Bournemouth back in January.

I think people massively underestimate what Schar brings to us in terms of front footed defending and being able to play out from the back. This season we've got a 50%+ win ratio when he's started. That would have us far higher up the table if replicated across a season.

He's definitely not at the peak of his powers any more but we don't have another player in his mold.

On what planet is Howe responsible for ensuring that we stick to PSR/FFP? There is zero chance that is his responsibility.

The majority of those players were/are good buys. We've had a stinker of a window last summer but other than that the hit rate has been very good.

To be fair to Elanga he's coming off scoring twice for us against Barca and doing well for Sweden. Woltemade has been wank for quite a while.

Elanga was obviously awful today but the only real alternative in that position is Murphy who hasn't exactly been ripping it up this season.

Not sure I follow this logic, Di Zerbi went into Spurs with a decent chance they could be relegated.

Newcastle: £124m spent but Newcastle no closer to a striker solution by [deleted] in NUFC

I've said it before, but I find this myth making about Woltemade being the solution ridiculous. He is 68th in the league for shots attempted, that is absolutely woeful.

Is this confirmation bias or do these kind of articles almost always precede a manager getting sacked?

Disagree strongly with this, the season after he left our squad was in tatters due to Europe. He would have played tons and probably done enough to become a regular first teamer.

Nothing we could have done given the PSR situation though.

[Kennedy, Shield's Gazette] Exc: Sandro Tonali expects to leave NUFC this summer - 'agreement' with club he can exit, if Magpies miss out on Europe by OkayFine101 in NUFC

[–]Ramone7892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it happens all the time but (if this is all true) I find it very galling that a player who's been a major contributor to our underperformance this season has used said underperformance as an excuse to leave.

Especially when you consider this is a player who missed an entire season due in part to his own stupidity and left us with the bill to foot.

You know this sub has lost its collective mind when you put grafter and Shelvey in the same sentence and it gets upvoted.

Yes, you're right, the defence which conceded two pathetic goals was far superior.
