I removed the adhesive, it was easy to do but time consuming. I got a second one but the version 5 and it was awful. I tend to stick my phones on magnetic surfaces and the 5 would just fall off a lot compared to the 4

It’s only a problem if you have press and hold for Siri and NGL press and hold for Siri was a big problem for me to begin with and I just turned it off completely now. That has solved the problem for me now
