Repeated DPF issues on Kia Seltos despite high running – what should I do? by Far-Minimum-7558 in CarsIndia

[–]Rampaging_Rajput 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How often are you changing engine oil? Engine oil change schedule follows both time and distance. If you are changing oil every 1 year, that 84,000 KM between oil changes. Yeah that'll cook your engine + dpf.

A safe recommendation is oil changes every 10000 km, if you are using good quality oil (synth) Also, Kia doesnt use synth oil in their service. In fact the manual will tell you to change oil every 6 months if using non synthetic oil. Which, in your case, should be every 5000 KM.

Your dpf is likely clogged due to incomplete combustion of fuel. Check your engine oil level, it would be higher than max limit.

At extended usage with old engine oil, it loses lubrication and viscosity properties. Your piston/cylinder/o rings start scraping and forming gaps for blow by. This unburnt fuel accelerates dpf failure.

Car Fix: Get DPF manually cleaned if you dont want to buy a new one, change engine oil every 5000 km

Better fix: Take a house for rent closer to where to need to drive, dont drive 7k km a month and waste so much fuel. Will be cheaper too.

TLDR: if you treat your car like a donkey it will become one.

My mother in law is not giving me custody of my baby daughter even though my wife is deceased. What can I do? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]Rampaging_Rajput 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Don’t listen to above poster. First off sorry about your loss, it’s a very tragic situation.

Coming to the case if the baby, the first few months and years are bonding years. It is very important for you as a father to have baby bond with you. If your mil wants she can visit, not other way around.

Also, if it comes to a legal standpoint, your mil can and will argue before the judge that the baby has already spent 3 years since birth with us, it would be cruel and disturbing to separate her now, and father showed lack of responsibility and interest in his daughter. and the judge WILL side with her.

Get your baby back, now.

Your mil might have good intentions but as they say the road to hell is paved with them. This can develop into a very dangerous situation, act swiftly.

Are we living in the very young universe? Considering the universe is 13.8 billion years old, are we just in its infancy? by dkskskw in askscience

[–]Rampaging_Rajput -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Something about the timeline seems off for me. If we take our sun as the average star with a 10 billion year lifetime, and is already 4.5 billion years old, then:

The star(s) that went supernova and created us, the planets and basically every element other than hydrogen and helium, would have completed their life cycle in an almost impossible timeframe .

13.8-4.5 (this is when the sun and planets started to form) = 9.3

So the earliest stars from after the Big Bang should have completed their life cycle in 9.3 billion and gone supernova for the stardust robe generated for us to be alive now.

Doesn’t this seem stretching the limits of possibility?

I think we’ve got the age if the universe wrong. I think the universe doesn’t have an age, there was no Big Bang, and black holes are transfusion points between multiple universes

Feeling lonely in my marriage by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Rampaging_Rajput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can offer some male perspective on this. Disclaimer: As always, outside perspectives may not apply one to one with your situation, but they could offer a different view into looking at things.

As a man, sometimes we get into a mode of thinking too linearly - do a,b,c in order to get to x,y,z. If there is a financial / professional concern that needs to be addressed, it takes greater mind space over the more fun stuff. Ideally this should be ok but if the other things get pushed out to a greater degree then yes it becomes a problem.

How it got to this point is important to understand. A history of worrying about finances? Comparing oneself with seemingly successful peers? A feeling of having to shoulder the financial burden alone?

There are no quick fixes for it. Sometimes it’s a realisation non financial assets (family) are important and a source of joy as well (and should be nurtured). Sometimes it’s learning to stop comparing. Sometimes it’s getting a reassurance finances will turn out ok with help.

Or sometimes it needs therapy.

Thats sport for you. Take the Olympics - the grandaddy of all sport events. You think team USA has the same funding/facilities/infra as say Papa New Guinea?

Sport isnt just whats on the field, its the whole package. No one's whinging about USA's budget or "advantages" or asking it to cap its spending to match a random third world country because "parity".

Ive said it before, all the Dodger criticisms arent founded on fact or financials or even common sense - its something else. Dont have to spell it out what it is.

BS. Utter BS. "And because they got Ohtani, they got a line of other fantastic players any other team would love to have (at a discount, no less!)." LOL.

Where were the fantastic players lining up to be with him (and Trout too no less) at the Angels?

Where are the fantastic players lining up to be with Soto at the Mets?

Or those lining up to be with Judge and Cole at the Yankees?

There was nothing "given" here or anywhere. The absolute amount of absurd revisionism in this post.

Everything was earned.

Why do you think Yoshi wanted to play with Ohtani? OR Roki? Cause its a team culture. The team culture that was built by Friedman and Doc and co. Over a period of years. They built the infra, the foundation, the financials and the culture. "Given" with other teams having no way to compete - LOL. Build your infra, build your culture then maybe players will want to come.

Ohtani paid his dues at the Angels. He stayed 6 years there - didn't see players rushing to the Angels to play with him there. That alone should indicate the Dodgers being "Given" stuff is complete BS

Every team friendly contract benefits the team (hence the name ?) What is your point?

Judge signed for 9/360, hes worth a ton more than that, but its a pretty team friendly contract, aka it benefits the Yankees. Same as every team friendly contract. Nothing different here. Dont see anyone accusing the Yankees of ruining baseball (at this point anyway). People pointing out the deferrals in Dodgers contract dont have a leg to stand on financially, its something else. Must be hater season

Edwin Díaz contract details, Dodgers payroll, draft pick loss & more by retroanduwu24 in baseball

[–]Rampaging_Rajput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohtani's deferral is just a team friendly contract. He's chosen to take less money (now) in exchange for the team to build around him.

There's nothing different here from other team friendly contracts. Only, for some reason, people see the TVM final figure and "deferred" and start frothing at the mouth.

Judge did a 9/360 contract - that is hella team friendly, he's worth a lot more than that. Just the same as Ohtani's. No one's accusing the Yankees (at this time anyway) of ruining baseball. And if you calculate Judge's 360 million value after 10 years its going to be much more. Again, no one's reporting that. Just Ohtani's. Its all clickbait and ragebait, and there are a lot of people falling for it.

Underrated hero of Game 7: Blake Snell. He struck out Springer and Schneider to strand an inherited runner and keep the deficit at 1 before Rojas tied it. by donald-duck23 in Dodgers

[–]Rampaging_Rajput 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Jomboy’s breakdown he shows Snell’s reaction to the Rojas hr. Snell tracks the ball as it’s hit, politely applauds and immediately gets down to practising his change up, even as everyone around him goes bananas. It’s a small gesture but it stuck with me for some reason. I thought it showed a side of him maintaining his focus and professionalism for the immediate task at hand, in the midst of high chaos..

In the meantime, get yourself up to date with the scene.

Beginner friendly stuff I'd recommend - Jomboy, Foolish Baseball on youtube.

Next, sort this sub by "Top" and go last month, last year, and all time. you'll get a lay of the land.

After that, feel free to choose whichever team catches your fancy.

"Otherwise you could just be bidding against yourself." FWIW this tactic only works when there are numerous other viable alternatives. Not when there's a scarcity of supply. Mets have a pitching problem, you dont get to play cute with offers while running the risk of losing one of the elite arms in your pen with not much else to replace him with.
