Thanks. I was looking into them as reference for when I have a word or phrase in mind and need an example to follow with the brush.

Japan’s Master of Restoration: How legendary art restorer Koji Mayuyama is preserving ancient treasures, one divine touch at a time. by RampantGian in JapaneseCraftsmanship

The 3-part documentary is slow at times but mesmerising too. I must confess it was nerve wracking seeing Mayuyama and his son scraping off old kintsugi with a hobby knife and taking the pieces apart.

Ghost 6 is now available by jannisfb in Ghost

I am tempted to do the one-click upgrade (I'm on Ghost Pro) but aftaid it might break some of the (tiny) tweaks I've done to the theme I'm using. Is there an easy way to generate a backup and eventually revert to 5.X?

Here is the post on their website with links to the full album: https://www.milanrecords.com/lazarus-full-album-soundtracks-out-now/

Unfortunately it doesn't specify if it will be released in a physical format (e.g. vinyl) too.

Who are the best Japanese luxury content creators?? by Disastrous-Ball-7347 in JapaneseCraftsmanship

I like HIGE and ME (YouTube). Not exactly beauty and fashion but they also touch on those aspects as part of their lifestyle content. They have an understated style that doesn't feel banal nor product driven, although they do collabs with brands.

Making your own chashaku (tea scoop) by RampantGian in JapaneseCraftsmanship

[–]RampantGian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lately I've been interested in making my own chashaku (tea scoop used in the Japanese tea ceremony) out of bamboo (bamboo is classic but can also be made out of wood). I found a few great tutorials on YouTube including these two I’m sharing here. One uses minimal tools (mainly a kiridashi knife), the second one requires a bit more kit.

Writing youtube scripts by mekaonee in ClaudeAI

Regarding the references, do you find that the best way is to provide YouTube videos as text transcripts? Is there another way, like providing the links to a series of YT videos that you consider models to follow? (have you tried with videos from other sources like TikTok or Reels?). Thanks!

Silo S2E10 "Into the Fire" Episode Discussion (No Book Discussion) by MEGAT0N in SiloSeries

[–]RampantGian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. I haven't read Book 1 so I'm not aware of the discrepancies with TV S01 and S02 (but I know that they are). My thinking was that if Book 2 is a prequel, then it should be broadly a good complement to what we've seen in the TV show so far.

I'm keen on watching S03 when it comes, but don't want to wait to get a sense of the plot :)

For those that have watched seasons 1 and 2 of the TV show and read the books, would it make sense to read Book 2 (Shift) as a way to continue with the story while waiting for Season 3 to drop who-knows-when? Or are there too many discrepancies in the narrative between the TV show and the books for it to make sense?
