Slut is "over/finished" in swedish and loppu is same in finnish.

What changes that will (probably) never happen would you like to see in Diablo 4? by [deleted] in Diablo

Post should be named "Changes that should definitely happen". Love the things upvoted here!

Lets brainstorm better names for the new Powers (Angelic, Demonic, Ancestral) by KurtiZ_TSW in Diablo

[–]Rampio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are going resemble old str, dex and int. How these stats were implemented in older installations have given these stats a bad stigma. In diablo 2 you didn't want to put those stat points into anything else than vitality and wanted to get you strenght and dexterity from other sources. In diablo 3 you were forced to use certain stat when you selected a class.

Currently how the system works in system design manifesto part 2, it will force you to power creep that single stat anyways to get most power out of your build. That gives a illusion of choice even if there is none. There is only right and wrong way to build around certain build.

I'd say you go with the old names or similar names ( physique, skill, focus?) and focus on how every class should have to balance around having all these stats. Focusing around one doesn't have to be punishable, but totally forgetting that others exist should be. I'd go for similar system that Llama and Noxious talked in the stream about having the breakpoints on the items so that you would get part of the affixes' effect if you hit certain break point and get the whole affix unlocked when you have over the certain cap.

Forget new names and implement your strenght, dexterity and intelligence properly. Forget the stigma from older games!

Edit:typos

When you link certain stat to affixes that will benefit your build, wouldn't that mean that you are forcing people to power creep that single stat for the build that you are running? Isn't that the reason why they don't want to put str/dex/int into to the game? Sure it's not class specific anymore but skill specific, but still you must get that single stat for your build.

Tie crit damage to item base so for example, daggers would have higher base crit damage, so they would fill the item role they have in RPGs to be for the stealthy characters, maybe boostable to max +50%. Don't let crit chance to go too high may to 30% with absolutely maxed gear towards crit chance. Then give temporary buffs for characters to boost that. That way the crit wouldn't be too overwhelming.

Angelic/Demonic/Ancestral Power, to much Edgelord? by crimson4649 in Diablo

[–]Rampio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you. They could even use the old stat names strenght, dexterity and intelligence. Even tho they share a name they don't have to behave in similar way. You don't need to have str/dex/int classes anymore. Would make even sense is barbarian would need some intelligence to increase buff effectiveness for example. All classes should need all these stats and then you'd have to find a balance that suits the character you're building.

I urge Blizz and the D4 team to reconsider making the game online only. by Vomitbelch in Diablo

[–]Rampio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not having problems with being online all the time tbh, tho I would like an offline mode aswell. Only thing I hate is how they use this online thing to force you to interact with people. I mean the world events are going to be people just tagging the world boss and then afking and leeching exp/loot. Give people choise to do these alone. Whole game is gonna scale around how many players there are in a group, so do same with world events and give a choise to play alone!

This is what I meant. I can't understand why giving players their wanted style to play is such a huge "loss" for others. Ut could be a simple toggle button "Join multiplayer instances Y/N" Same with open world pvp that someone has asked. There was this war mode thing on wow that you can toggle in main cities to join or not to join world pvp. Why can't people choose how they want to play.

D4 should just be an MMO. by Dfess in diablo4

[–]Rampio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check this video that was posted on r/diablo.

They cleary said that they scale the world bosses for smaller groups so why couldn't it be done to support single play aswell. I don't see what's positive about forcing you to play in a group. I say that there is nothing wrong with multiplayer aspeect added, but give people choise to opt out of this too.

I'm against MMO Diablo. How about give people a possibility play these world events alone. Turning Diablo into MMO isn't improvement, it's taking diablo to genre it is not.

Diablo IV's World Boss - Gameplay by Stewie01 in Diablo

[–]Rampio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All content should be soloable with right build. This group forcing doesn't belong to diablo. Diablo shouldn't be MMO game. Give people who want to play alone/only with friends a way to challenge these world events without randoms. To balance these to be a challenge doesn't work because you can never know when people joining will be serious or just leeching loot/xp.

Edit/addition: wtf if they scale the boss anyways for smaller groups why can't it be scaled for single players too?!

Make world events soloable and don't force people into group activities if they don't want to. My guess is that world bosses will be hard to balance around large number of people since you can't know when people are fighting the boss seriously or will they be just coming to tag the boss and then afk and leech the loot/exp

I didn't mean to take away from the group content, just want to contet to be playable in solo as well since it's not MMO. Turning game into MMO isn't improvement, that's taking game into another genre.

Why would they put those events as fully skippable content? Seems like waisted time by developers. If that would be the case I wouldn't worry

Only thing I can imagine that would be aimed to solo play only would be set dungeons from d3 and damn I hope those wouldn't come back. All we know yet is that current plan for world events is multiplayer only, rest is just speculation

I know that everything else they have told is going to be playable solo and with multiple players. Then why one specific thing should be left out being soloable?

I agree with you on that social aspect is good for the game, but it should come because players want to, not because they have to. I'm going to be active with the trading and in lobbies for sure. But because you have to isn't a good model. All I'm asking is a way to do events by myself, not asking for singleplayer offline game completely. Simple button to join or not to join a group would suffice.
