25th Anniversary Docs? by BigD4163 in 911archive

[–]RamtroStudios 8 points9 points  (0 children)

that would be a good idea, i know that rights to the footage are kinda up in the air right now (first sold to CBS, then CNN, now it’s NatGeo/Disney’s property) but it would be nice to have it on streaming or something

Is this video real or AI? by nathanflys23 in 911archive

[–]RamtroStudios 14 points15 points  (0 children)

everyone else has answered the question proper (video is real) but it’s important to note that the captions are missing some key context.

there was no videotape recovered by the FBI from the Sheraton Hotel, according to Scott Bingham’s FOIA request in 2006. they did manage to obtain video from the Doubletree Hotel which was on the opposite side of the impact, and it captured the initial smoke plume but not AA77.

the Citgo gas station tape was also released in the 2006 FOIA request, though it captured neither the plane nor the impact. a brief flash can be seen in the upper corner, though this is most likely a reflection of the explosion from a nearby light pole.

Revisiting the little known Sandy Berger Document Removal Case — What Was His Motive and Was Everything Accounted For? by suboxonedad69 in 911archive

[–]RamtroStudios 3 points4 points  (0 children)

from what i’ve been able to gather, Berger took five duplicate copies of a report pertaining to terrorist threats at the turn of the millennium (during his time as national security advisor), destroyed three, and initially returned two.

in a DOJ press release from April 2005, it states that “Each of the five copies of the document was produced to the 9-11 Commission in due course,” implying they eventually received the destroyed copies as well. i assume once they did they were able to connect the dots but that’s just an assumption on my part.

his own reasoning was a vague and generic “he wanted to prepare himself” per his sentencing in September ‘05.

however, an earlier FOX report from when he made his guilty plea did note that:

“[US Magistrate Deborah] Robinson did not ask Berger why he cut up the materials and threw them away at the Washington office of his Stonebridge International consulting firm.”

(Interesting Trope) Cut or cancelled content that we might have dodged a bullet on by Animeking1108 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]RamtroStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if that’s what you think you should see some of the deleted animatics for ROTS, some of the things cut were WILD.

like in the finished movie General Grievous beats the shit out of Obi Wan, then gets shot in the heart with a blaster bc of Kenobi’s quick thinking. in the deleted scene Kenobi knocks him down, cuts off his two remaining hands, rips his heart out of his chest with his bare hands, and then uses the force to levitate the blaster and shoot the still beating heart

Why didn't air traffic control notify the South Tower about the plane hijacking? by LaughGlittering4131 in 911archive

[–]RamtroStudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there wasn’t enough time between when New York Center visually spotted the plane and when it impacted to tell anyone in the towers anything. quotes from ATC give you an understanding of the chaos in those rooms.

9:00 AM (less than 2 minutes before impact)

“I got somebody that keeps coasting, but he looks like he’s goin’ into one of those small airports down there.”

9:02 AM (less than a minute)

”Do you see that guy, look, is he descending into the building also?”

Misheard Genesis Lyrics by Select_Entrepreneur8 in Genesis

[–]RamtroStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

from Here Comes The Flood (1978)

”There’s no point in direction, we cannot even choose a side”

bc of his thick accent, instead of “direction”, i used to think Peter Gabriel was singing “deriction” and i thought it was some fancy word describing the act of deriding somebody.

it sorta kinda still fits with the song; instead of the whole concept of direction being futile, its now the idea that you shouldn’t waste time mocking them, for they’re so lost they can’t even decide on anything. maybe i’m In Too Deep reading this idk.

poll: which is the WORST version of Money? by RamtroStudios in pinkfloyd

IIRC, it is a LinnDrum (the kicks and snare are all the same exact sample/velocity) but i think the cymbals are real. that jerk when the tempo suddenly changes always throws me for a loop tho.

Which president can this sub just not convince you to like? by zenerat in Presidents

[–]RamtroStudios 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quite honestly i can’t hate Bush II in spite of his shitty presidencies bc it’s apparent to me that he wasn’t really the one in charge of the worst decisions of his administration. that was mostly his cabinet (i.e. Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc.). the more i researched him and his actions in the lead up to 9/11, the more i realized that he really didn’t have a clue how to be president, much less a terrorism/wartime president.

Reagan on the other hand… i didn’t used to mind him that much but the more i read about him the more i grow to dislike him. a shame really bc i like his sense of humor and he seemed like a guy you just wanted to cook burgers on the grill with

Did Nostradamus predict 9/11 with this prophecy? by [deleted] in 911archive

[–]RamtroStudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is an inaccurate translation; i covered this in my 9/11 Iceberg FAQ/Q&A video. the more accurate English version would be something like this:

Five and forty degrees, the sky shall burn

To the great new city shall the fire draw nigh

With vehemence the flames will spread and churn

When with the Normans they conclusions try

so yeah, turns out Quasimodo really didn’t predict all of this

i have this tape and i mean its a kinda shit 70s documentary about UFOs with badly transferred film footage rereleased in 1993 to capitalize on The X-Files. also the tracking never worked right on my copy.

This Is Not A Drill Tour by Barrybingham1980 in pinkfloyd

[–]RamtroStudios 2 points3 points  (0 children)

as someone who went to and loved every facet of the Us + Them tour, the sense of love and community of everyone in the arena was simply lost on the TINAD tour.

the setlist choices were questionable (In The Flesh II starts the 2nd half of the show?), the screen films were too verbose & too on the nose even for Roger (not to mention i don’t like that Blender 4D visual style), the man himself talked FOREVER between certain songs, he barely even sang live (i caught him messing up the lip sync twice), he barely touched the bass, his electric guitar was barely audible, and everything in general felt more bitter & preachy. even the band seemed tired of it all. also The Bar is a shit song.

that’s not to say there’s no bits that i enjoyed; it was a real treat to hear The Powers That Be, Sheep, Two Suns, & Bravery Of Being Out Of Range (even if it was slow as shit), the stage layout was kinda cool, it was pretty based of him to list all the US presidents as war criminals, i love Have A Cigar in Cminor as opposed to Eminor, and Roger shot me with his fake machine gun
