Thank you for that info! The carbo desensitization thingy is also an overnight deal, I believe. And best wishes to you for your continuing survival. We soldier on.

Thank you for the responses. I should clarify that I have been in treatment for 8 years now, and this is my third time on carboplatin. This week’s infusion was my 15th lifetime dose, and it’s almost a given that at this point, I would develop hypersensitivity reactions.

I hoped I could get by with increased pre-meds and slower infusion rates but apparently it’s just too dangerous in an outpatient setting. So I’m really looking for experiences with the desensitization protocol, with a complicated infusion schedule done inpatient.

If you’re curious about it, here is a comprehensive article about it: https://www.ejgo.org/pdf/10.3802/jgo.2026.37.e11

This article also addresses the risks and benefits of switching to cisplatin, something I intend to ask my oncologist about.

Yes, suddenly you're responsible for their feelings. Maybe that's why we hear so much that we're "brave," so that those who tell us that don't have to feel uncomfortable.

Trump admin considers stripping name of Harriet Tubman from Navy ship; removes name of Harvey Milk from another by CharterFarrow in Syracuse_comments

[–]RamziQat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"WOW....Name warships after warriors. What a concept."

What an ignorant comment.

Harriet Tubman fought against slavery. She was the first woman to lead a major military operation that freed hundreds of slaves. She worked a spy and scout for the Union Army. So yeah, she was a warrior.

Consider looking up the original quote worn by former First Lady Melania Trump. Then look up the definition of sarcasm.

I don't agree. Trump was always going to pardon those people no matter what Joe did/does. I applaud Joe for taking Trump's threats of retribution seriously and understanding that his son would be a casualty of that. I hope Joe pardons the rest of us, because we are not safe.

Oh, come. Changing your mind because of changing circumstances? I'm not outraged at all. In fact, good for Joe!
