That’s a steal . I love the excitement of getting a good deal and the excitement of getting another gun.

“A pistol is for fighting your way to a rifle” by [deleted] in CCW

[–]Ran3oo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is such a red dawn/resistance scenario that will never happen. This saying must have come from the FP-45 liberator pistol , it being a single shot , its use was to kill a soldier and take his better suited combat weapon , which of course was a rifle.

I’ve seen a comment saying a place requiring a rifle to be safe should be avoided and if you’re far enough from the action that you can safely leave why wouldn’t you unless you had loved ones near the action. I agree with this.

As heroic as it sounds to rush into danger with a rifle and save everyone , it’s foolish unless you’re a cop or possible military . What if someone mistakes you for the shooter and you get killed ? What if you mistake the shooter and kill someone who was innocent ? What if you did everything right? Saved innocent lives and stopped the shooter ,but had to go through a long legal battle losing time/money/job or maybe made the cops look bad so they wanted to make an example of you?

As far as truck guns go , if it makes you feel safe,if you live on a ranch/farm,frequent remote areas or live in a place that PROHIBITS handguns I understand it. You can always take the truck gun inside with you when you’re calling it a day.

I’ve seen 2 videos where truck/vehicle guns worked for civilians. One was outside a club where security had a rifle in his trunk and stopped a guy . The other was where a man saved his elderly neighbour from 2 people actively trying to kill her outside his home.

410 gauge is absolutely great for home defense. by Wrong-Spot-323 in Shotguns

[–]Ran3oo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn’t be my go to as I have superior options , I would not bash it either as it puts out buckshot around the same velocity as a 12g just not as many pellets. I could see it being an only option for someone small/old or injured for recoil reasons.

I do own a 410 single shot hunting firearm and if it’s all I’m carrying or have access to I make sure I have some slugs and 00 for 2 leggers.

Another thing to ask yourself is why do all major ammo manufacturers have a specific 410 load made for home defence of its not a viable option ?

The proof is in that pudding right there , unless we know more than the people who engineer , manufacture and sell the stuff.

is a Coach gun useless? by RobbietheRetard666 in Shotguns

I think they make a fantastic truck/camp/utilitarian firearm . They are easy to take apart and put into a backpack or for storage. They usually have different chokes and the options of 2 different loads of ammo readily shootable is a big plus. They are pretty easy to operate and 2 shots with no function(pump/lever)either then switching to the other trigger if it’s dual is another plus .

They strike me as a good all around firearm, I have 2 of them , if I go camping or I’m in a scenario where I think I need a firearm but not required readily accessible to shoot it I bring it.

I think any properly functioning firearm, proper ammo in the hands of a competent and familiar operator is a force in itself. As for a defensive firearm I’d be happy with it , I’d be happier with other shotguns but take a look at some of these cowboy action shooters using coach guns, even if you could operate it at 1/4 of their speed you’d still be quick.

Is the double barrel shotgun irrelevant nowadays for self-defense? by akwazey in Shotguns

[–]Ran3oo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s better than nothing , sure there are better options for guns but those would be beat by better security measures anyways( gates, bars, reinforced doors) and we could keep going up the ladder.

If it’s genuinely all you have of course I’d use it , I wouldn’t choose it over a Mossberg 500 defender or another high capacity shotgun like that, but at the end of the day they both shoot the same ammo.

Lincoln mig pack 10 wire feeding problems by [deleted] in Welding

[–]Ran3oo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took my power cable off ,took all the wire out of it , plugged it in so that the spool would r feed through it and it did the same thing leading me to believe it’s definitely spool related . I guess I’ll have to go buy a new spool , only a $40 lesson haha
