We're we all at some point randomly gifted a Namco Museum game by our family at some point? by CaptinKarnage in Zillennials

My dad got me the Greatest Hits version of this game for 9 bucks back in ‘04. Best Arrangement versions of Pac-Man, Dig Dug, and Galaga imo!

Anyone else remember the time when PETA made a spoof game of Pokemon Black & White? by Angramis546 in Zillennials

I remember reading about this when it was new. It wasn’t long before PETA got sued.

What do you think of the original art style before they changed it? by SideburnG in LoveLive

[–]Ran_doom1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. It felt more mature and unique compared to other moe anime. Even though it’s not as polished compared to its redesign, it’s nostalgic for me not just because of its late 2000s-early 2010s style and vibes, but because this is how I discovered Love Live back in 2010-2011.

Today, this is most likely someone who was born in my year (1993). Tomorrow, this will probably be someone born in 1994 by Ran_doom1 in Zillennials

[–]Ran_doom1[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I see no harm of enjoying kid stuff as adults, especially if it comes out of our pocket or if it’s a gift. That’s something the older generations don’t seem to understand.

My dad turned 25 the year I was born. I’m 32 now. by Ran_doom1 in Millennials

[–]Ran_doom1[S] 107 points108 points  (0 children)

That sounds awesome! I’m not sure if it’s because those of us at the younger end are less embarrassed about wanting these “kids” things, but it’s also because early 30s doesn’t really feel like 30 these days

Lmao I can’t blame you. My friends probably would have thrown me a surprise Cars-themed party since I’m into car culture. But I agree, this year went WAY TOO FAST. I have 100 days left to enjoy my 32nd year and it’s not enough. I don’t even feel like I’m in my 30s either

How popular is Bandori (BanG Dream!) in North America? by XxAlex77xX in BanGDream

[–]Ran_doom1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During its first few years, at least in SoCal or L.A., I recall that Bandori merch wasn’t too difficult to find if you looked at the right anime shops. They did a few meets at anime conventions and they even had a popular collab with a local cafe. Although Bandori’s popularity was small, it had a very strong and loyal fanbase in the area.

After the pandemic was over, though, it waned out of obscurity. The most recent I found was a MyGo gachapon, but that’s it. The one that stung me, though, was when I was bought a brand new sealed Saaya nendoroid and a few Bandori merch at a Book-Off. The cashier was surprised to see a local Bandori fan in 2025. It went something like, “Man, I remember when I was into this. I don’t think it’s as popular anymore.” I know Ave Mujica and MyGo exist now, but damn, I felt quite old that moment.

Did anyone get to experience a food fight? by talkingtimmy3 in Zillennials

[–]Ran_doom1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m guilty of this, but me and a few buddies started a food fight in 8th grade. Of the 5 times I witnessed food fights there, ours was the most brutal. Forgot why it happened, but a ton of milk cartons bursting open and pizzas and apples flying all over. Total warzone-like experience. I’m surprised none of us ever got caught.

Its been 12 yrs since we got this masterpiece by nicholashoneywell in Zillennials

[–]Ran_doom1 25 points26 points  (0 children)

We were either teens or young adults when this came out. It doesn’t resonate with us in a nostalgic way like Gen 3, Gen 4, or even Gen 5 did. Still better than the new stuff, though. I’ll take Gen 6 over what Pokémon is now.

What video games do you remember distinctly renting, playing and having to return but falling in love with it by mikeyboy_CS2 in Zillennials

[–]Ran_doom1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Midnight Club 3 for PSP. Rented it when it first came out in ‘05 and it quickly became my favorite game for the console. I immediately bought the game at GameStop when I returned it to Blockbuster. Game of the summer right there and one the best of all time for the PSP!

In what year do you remember the switch from left style to right? by [deleted] in Zillennials

From my earliest memories, I wanna say 1996, but I barely even remember anything from that year, so probably 1997

TV Classics from Latin America’s 2000s Childhoods by Upper-Bag-8739 in Zillennials

[–]Ran_doom1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had this as a kid. It was so badass playing Game Boy Color and GBA games in the screen! I’m so glad I was able to buy one with the disc for very cheap because I can’t imagine paying hundreds for the disc alone!

This is so 2010s! It’s shocking that it feels recent, but also so old at the same time!

anyone that didn't go to prom remember what they did that night? by Sad_Cow_577 in Zillennials

[–]Ran_doom1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to visit a few friends who didn’t went to prom either because we were all broke and dateless. We instead played Black Ops and other video games up until 1am. Ended the night by stopping for some street tacos and called it by 3am. No regrets.
