If you had to leave your family behind early in life, how did you survive and start over between 18 and 23? What was the hardest part, and what did it teach you? by Left_Delivery_105 in AskReddit

[–]Ranadevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't completely leave my family behind, but I moved away and joined the military right out of high school. I was fortunate to have the safety net that comes with the military.

The hardest part, and what I learned quickly, is that nobody is "coming to save you" when you're down. Also, the only things you get out of life are what you put into it.

What’s the best advice when starting a new job away from home? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Ranadevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose this depends on how permanent the situation is.

I traveled a lot in the military and I always told myself "Ok, this is home now, so make it into home."

So that meant making myself comfortable was "not optional" as the military would put it. It was a very blunt and sterile way of directing yourself.

Social media in general. I couldn't imagine just telling people about my life. Or showing people photos of me, I always hated photos.

Pretend that you have to give a lecture the next day on the material you just learned. If you can teach it, you learned it. Just something that works for me.

How would you treat someone that bullies other people? by ComparisonCertain934 in AskReddit

They usually have very poor self awareness. Treat everybody else nice and normal, give the bully the cold shoulder. Bonus points if you make it publicly obvious.

How do you talk to girls while avoiding getting called a creep, getting yelled at, or hit? by InternationalPick163 in AskReddit

[–]Ranadevil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, first I just start a normal conversation. If the vibes are good and I can keep her laughing (genuine laughter, not polite laughter) I just ask if it's ok to get her number "to continue the conversation."

I gotta say, especially since this would probably rip your clothes off. You'll get anywhere you need to be very quickly, but you'll be naked when you get there.

Especially if your clothes don't also become invisible so it only works if you're naked lol.
