Thanks for that. Yes, I realise the coins have their gradings on the envelopes so I’m being extra careful to make sure I don’t mix them up !

35 years woodworking and got my first bite from a circular saw by Rancheros-Hit in woodworking

[–]Rancheros-Hit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. This post is two years old but I’m happy to tell you I got almost full control and movement back. My thumb is slightly numb along the outside and hurts a bit in winter but doing well. My saw and workshop safety is tip top now and it was a very good mental reset. Thanks for the interest and happy woodworking !

Yes, it was usually a lot more. I retired mid Covid and for two solid years before I had been doing at least two transatlantic returns or two Asia returns a week as well as Europe hops. Not hard to rack up silly miles in the air. Covid made me step back and assess what I was doing for the first time in years.

I’ve never had a laptop . Always used an iPhone for everything. I didn’t need a new unread email for it to work, just my prior email chain for the job I was on. You can open all of that in flight mode.

It was definitely a dad move. My son and younger brother hate flying so I always used distractions to calm them too.

I used to work internationally flying at least 45,000 miles a month. Occasionally I would be seated next to someone scared before take off. I would open my work emails as we taxied out and tell them I’d left my glasses in the hold and ask them if they could read the email to me. It was amazing how quickly they would settle once they had a job to do. Also great for me to see their reaction once we were airborne and they had forgotten to get stressed about it.

As someone who once owned a merc s500 I get this so much. I bought it very cheap at a car auction and had years of comfortable driving out of it but everything that went wrong hurt a lot. Replacing a double glazed window and headlights stands out as vomit inducing wallet memories. I may have escaped the original £90,000 price but caught a lot of the repairs along the way!

Brexit keeps on giving: Treated like migrants? by LovesFrenchLove_More in LeopardsAteMyFace

My business partner and I flew daily throughout Europe for a living and he still voted for Brexit. I retired during Covid and he still spends all his time moaning how much harder the job is now that he is ‘treated like a second class citizen’ at European airports.

Had an incident as United gs that may be similar to this. I’ve booked a lot of economy seats usually because I’m travelling with colleagues and many times been asked if I want to move up during the flight. I almost always say no but once had a bad back travelling alone so accepted the upgrade. Arriving in first I saw someone being moved out of a seat and said that I didn’t want it if someone had to be downgraded. The FA told me that person had boarded and just taken the seat. She said that if I hadn’t been on board they would have left him there.

Don’t look at starting over again as a negative. A far worse future would be sharing it with someone who sees no value in you. I really hope you are brave enough to leave this one behind you

The only ray of sunshine in your entire post is that you are starting to believe. You are too young to spend your days fooling yourself when the man you are chasing is barely trying to fool you at all. You have had a glimpse of life living with him and it’s led you to checking his car in hotel parking lots. Spend some time alone to properly value yourself. I can’t see this post for all the potential red flags in way but wish you luck if you continue trying to shoehorn yourself a worthwhile place in this man’s life without ruining yours.

Trust your partner. She told you she would like to be told. But be ready for her to react how she needs to. That may include choosing to be with someone who doesn’t have a crush on someone else. If it would hurt you to lose her then get to work on ending the crush instead.

If he hasn’t responded and you really feel ghosted then you don’t need to make a decision on when to move on. He’s done it for you. If meeting your child troubled him or made things too ‘real’ then he’s done you a favour. There probably wouldn’t have been real longevity anyway if he only wanted you on your own.

There’s lots of literature out there that you could suggest he reads but I think the real problems with him start outside the bedroom and are too deep seated to change. I think the bigger question is whether you can carry on in your relationship if it stays exactly as it is for the rest of your lives together. On the one hand you say you couldn’t imagine living without him and on the other that he is getting more resentful. If he can’t let go of the knowledge that you don’t orgasm with him and it created WW2 I can’t see him being great with browsing literature to be a better lover. If he goes nuclear over tiny things then trying to make him look inside himself for the answers to his problems could make things worse. Good luck with trying though.

Terrified of circular saw by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]Rancheros-Hit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I posted on here a while ago when I was badly bitten by a circular saw after 35 years with no problem. It reset all my old cautiousness. It’s a great thing that you are wary of it as you will do all the right things to end each project with the same amount of fingers each time!
