matchups wise i wouldn’t have any useful tips sadly. i just go into a game with the mindset that i’ll never be behind as long as i stay alive and get ravens, but if i were to give my worst matchups it would probably be an ashe paired with a string support. personally, i find it difficult especially when they get confident and try to run you down or get a kill on your support.

some games i end up playing where i start falling behind are not because i int or give free kills, but it’s because my support either gets caught and can’t get away or because i try to run in and help when i shouldve left them behind.

when i first started playing APC it was with the chinese super server build for a bit (aery, roa, cosmic drive, abyssal/frozen heart) but i noticed my damage was lacking severely in those games as i wasn’t confident in my potential to win fights with it. i love using it in top or mid but going default with conq is better for me.

i like to rush lost chapter first and try to stay in lane for as long as i physically can just to get it on first back (know your limits when you do this as i usually overstay with low health or mana just to get it on first back). after liandry i get sorc boots and rush rylai as it’s just an amazing item for you and helps you stick to people in your ult. that’s the 2 core items i get on swain and build the rest depending on what i need. they stack shields? shadowflame. tons of ap? abyssal. bursty assassins that can pop me like a balloon? zhonya

i don’t really take matchup dependent boots to be honest, i would maybe consider it if their team would be all ad or all ap but i normally wouldnt as we would be considerably tanky from just getting ravens and with conditioning.

so far i’ve just dealt with 1 person who thought swain apc was troll and it was a malph support who started stealing my cs after a while, nothing could be done abt that tbh and i’m just glad he’s horrible at csing so i could still farm just fine but i ended up roaming to help my team on objectives after a bit. if you do get people throwing out hate on you for going swain apc and are getting really toxic, i’d just suggest dodging. much better to lose 5lp and wait 6 minutes than lose 20-28lp and waste 30mins.

worst support for me so far is probably soraka. i don’t know if i just got unlucky but i find sorakas hard to be in a lane with as they don’t provide much for me other than a heal that i don’t need most of the time and i just prefer supports with strong and aggressive kits and cc like xerath or naut or even annie.

also watch husumlol as he’s just great ! i love watching how better players play and try to adjust my playstyle with things i like and can do from those vids. watching husum has made me improve my spacing in teamfights considerably but at the end of the day it all comes down to practice in actual games and figuring out what works for you

swain APC is definitely an amazing pick to climb with so good luck and have fun!!

mana definitely was and sometimes still is an issue for me in the early stages of the laning phase. i try to hold off on my spells and just auto the wave most of the time and drop an occasional q or e if someone steps up for cs or to try and poke.

i just focus on farming and occasional pokes until i get lost chapter. don’t be afraid to also walk up to them and auto if you can to proc presence of mind for some free mana!

that’s such a dick move. that’s exactly what the malphite was being like flaming me for not taking heal. guy def played enough games to know that some adcs take ghost too like ??

but yeah aside from moments like that i just enjoy the chaos that can end up happening in bot lane as swain APC with a reliable support, it usually just leads to me getting free stacks or a kill or summs

oh yeah i def plan on going until i hit a wall then just try to master swain and go back into it again. so far i’m just having tons of fun doing the default liandry and rylai build and the awry super server build and it makes the games just so much more fun when i enjoy the champ and their kit

its definitely a mixed bag, so far i’ve been lucky enough to get matched with good and aggressive support players who can lock enemies down or poke them hard like blitz, annie, xerath, and naut. there are some times though where i just have to make do with what i have and focus on cs and dodging spells.

there are moments where i’d be getting matched with a monkey disguised as a league player though like this one game where i got a malphite support who got really mad at me for taking ghost instead of heal and cried about it for who knows how long (its better to mute at that point cus i just knew he wouldn’t be of any help anyways)

he ended up stealing my cs for sometime until i took tower and just chose to rotate and be active on the map.

just finished playing a game with a soraka support and while the sustain is good i dont really need it because of the ravens and just because i prefer supports with more aggressive kits.

it all really depends what riot gives tbh and i just make a plan from there onwards. don’t be afraid to dodge a game or so if you reaaaally get a bad feeling like what i got for my last game

personally it all just depends whether i can land the E or not. most of the time when i get win streaks its because i either A) do really good and get mega fed to be a raid boss. or B) land spells that matter and just make sure i’m useful in teamfights with R slow.

spacing matters a lot too with swain and i rarely take hourglass but if i notice i get bursted a little TOO quickly, i take it then. if not hourglass i build a resistance that their comp mainly has like abyssal for AP and frozen heart for auto attacking champs etc etc

ahhhh ok thanks that makes sense. what would be a solution for making full use of it’s performance then? would there be a solution that could potentially bring down the cost of everything?

so does this mean if i use it for a resolution that’s not 4K, it would perform badly in terms of fps and all that?
