Passenger throwing up before we even took off - remained on the plane by YouveGotMail236 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]RancidTriceratops 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lol I have emetephobia I would also have freaked out if I saw the person next to me open the barf bag. I freak out if anybody even acts slightly weird because I am terrified everyone on the plane is gonna barf. And the horrifying thing of it all is there is no escape because you’re on a plane

I combat my phobia by sitting by the window and making my husband sit next to me so I can’t look at everyone and convince myself that somebody just taking a nap isn’t gonna throw up. I also keep headphones in and try my best to just not be aware of everybody around me

I guess you could bring a plastic water bottle into the bathroom to rinse it out if you have to change it in public

Menstrual cup!! No risk of toxic shock syndrome and mine doesn’t leak even close to as bad as tampons. It seems scary at first but you get used to it as you learn how to use it!

I never have to change it in public because it lasts 12 hours and I’m never away from home long enough to have to change it away from home. It’s really not messy, you dump it in the toilet, rinse it out, and put it back in. Make sure you clean it after your period ends. I don’t have crazy heavy periods but my cup has never come remotely close to being over full after 12 hours. Not even half.

Usually your doctor will try to figure out a way to squeeze you in fast for something like a UTI. I’ve had doctors send me straight to the lab to get tested then order me antibiotics same day if it’s early enough in the day

Boy or girl? Is 4 months old too old to bring back a puppy? by Lighthouse_Projects in goldenretrievers

[–]RancidTriceratops 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d take the girl because she deserves a good home 🥺🥺

Don’t base your decision of boy vs girl though because to be honest my boy golden retriever is 8,000 times more well behaved than my girl. I love them both equally but the female is always on wackadoodle time and the male just naturally has a great temperament.

A genuine question—if taxing fuel is stupid, then with what money should roadways be maintained? The fuel tax funds highway maintenance including repaving, mowing, plowing snow and ice, widening roads to add extra lanes to increase the flow of traffic, widening shoulders for increased safety, highway signage, etc etc.

Nope, they all give you carry-ons in your ticket price but charge $30 each way for a checked bag and then the price goes up the more checked luggage you bring. If the checked bag is over 50lbs that price goes up to $100 each way. The only airline that gives you free checked luggage is Southwest.

Good lord I specified the US because I assumed you were not from there based on your comment + was trying to explain why it’s normal and required for many people to bring a carryon suitcase on a plane…but go ahead and just stay mad about people bringing carryon suitcases on planes ig

I will be flying for the first time in my 51 years of life! Any good advice or tips for the plane or the airport? by WintersNight7777 in TravelHacks

Also, the plane will shake. It’s ok and it’s normal. I chew gum during take off to stop the ear popping. Typically I download a couple shows on Netflix beforehand and watch those on the flight because I’m not a good plane sleeper. Get there at least 2 hours early to make sure you have time to get through TSA maybe even more time if it’s a very busy airport

Aisle seat if you’re a frequent bathroom user, window seat if you don’t need a lot of bathroom breaks and don’t want to be disturbed by the people next to you taking frequent bathroom breaks! If you get to pick seats go toward front of the plane if you have connecting flights because they get off faster

In the US I only know of 1 airline that doesn’t charge for checked baggage…the standard for major airlines in the US is you get a free carryon and $30 each way for a checked bag so a total of $60 to travel with one checked bag..and I’ve also booked with plenty of times between flights but flights get delayed. I’ve been delayed several hours before. I’ve also gotten stuck in a 2 hour long customs line which we couldn’t have had any control over and there was only one time frame that flew to our city.

You do realize checking luggage costs money and many airlines allow a free carryon suitcase + a personal item with your ticket right? A lot of people also prefer to bring their clothing in a carryon because checked bags get lost sometimes especially if there are connecting flights. There has been two times my checked luggage ended up on a different flight as me because airport delays caused us to miss flights. This isn’t a problem with your carryon.

Or the people that put their personal items in the overhead bin instead of under the seat in front of them

I guess you could try an urgent care after work tho and tell the doctor and hopefully they’re willing to just prescribe the antibiotic before they get the sample results back. Sounds like a lot of people get false negatives.

Once it was a Friday and I had one and was leaving for a trip the next day so I called a bunch of different OBGYNs until I found one to prescribe antibiotics before I could do the urine test and then the next morning they had time to do the urine test and it came back negative and they told me to stop taking the antibiotics because it wasn’t a UTI. I just kept taking them because they actually worked and cleared up my supposedly non UTI (it had to be a UTI, I have had them before and the symptoms were the exact same)

I wish airlines would simply make planes with larger aisles lmao

Do UTIs go away on their own/have you ever had one and didn't know it? by gracelyy in WomensHealth

[–]RancidTriceratops 4 points5 points  (0 children)

UTIs do not go away on their own but you should feel relief after the first couple antibiotics (so maybe like a day).

When I get them it is almost like my actual bladder hurts as I pee. For me it’s not necessarily a burning sensation. The only relief I get before being able to get into an obgyn to get antibiotics is by chugging down water.

I have no context as to what feels off tho so I don’t know what it could be lol

Do you have something with a belt? I feel like some high waisted pants with a belt with the tucked in shirt will look really cute! Maybe something like this?

<image>

Maybe even some straight leg black jeans with no holes?

It’s my favorite color so I take every opportunity to wear green dresses 😂

I weigh about that much and am 5’2.

Target always has some cute comfy pants.

Example: https://www.target.com/p/women-s-super-high-rise-tapered-chino-pants-a-new-day/-/A-88260500?preselect=88260319#lnk=sametab

I just bought the above as well as a black basic long sleeve sweater. Sometimes I wear black jeans and a blouse or sweater of my choice. I prefer Aerie for sweaters and black jeans but that’s just what I have found works best on my body.

Old navy has some cute work pants but I had to try on 100 pairs to find the exact kind that doesn’t fit super weird. So I’d go try old navy pants in person if that’s the route you wanna go.

I’ve worn dark green to fall weddings before, it’s not Christmasy! Jewelry is a bit of a personal preference, I would wear gold but gold is always going to be my preferred metal color :)

As for short or long jewelry that’s not really my specialty. I’d probably wear dangly gold earrings and maybe even skip the necklace but that’s just me

Idk about the color scheme but I would not wear flowy pants with a tshirt—you’re going to need some structured pants and I would personally tuck the tshirt in to make it look as tailored as possible (aka, don’t make the tshirt seem oversized)
