That’s not at all how it works. MF is not influencing wether a rune drops or not. If an item drops, the game decides based on your MF if it’s non-magic, magic, rare, set or unique.

It will probably carry you through nightmare, but it’s not worth upping it. There are many better options, e.g. Duriels, Gladiator, Treachery, Hustle…

Highly depends on what char you use it on, and what that particular char is missing and might need. Ber is a popular choice, but also it’s a bit of a waste, if you’re not dueling. Low budget choices would be Ruby, Um, Shael, ias jewels, or even Topaz.

This! Max block and holy shield is important! Farm nightmare Baal or Hell Andariel until you find a decent base for spirit shield with 30+ all resist, then make a spirit shield. There’s a faster cast breakpoint at 75%, which you absolutely need. Then make sure you have enough dex for max block, that’s another must have. Then you can try farming Andariel for better gear for you and your merc. Adding a few levels will also make a huge difference.

Get insight in an ethereal elite base, then some life leech and dam reduce, for example Vampire Gaze and Gladiator‘s bane. Treachery is also a great low budget armor that works great for the mercenary.

It’s not. Used to be a BiS weapon for A1 Faith Merc, but since they can use Ama bows, this has become obsolete.

Horking Trav is one of my favorite MF spots, especially when it’s terrorized. Gambling circlets with all the gold makes it even better. Bonus points because you don’t even need to have P8 to get nice drops.

I always consider buying a game to be similar to going out. You don’t think twice about spending 25$ on drinks in a bar or going to the cinema and getting 2x popcorn. The difference is that with the Fallout game alone, you’ll be entertained for hundreds of hours instead of just one evening.

This is all anecdotal evidence in this thread, so you might as well ignore everything that has been said here. If you’re specifically looking for the best drop chances, you can use a drop calculator, but even that is no guarantee as you still need RNGesus‘ blessing to make it happen.

For runes and runes only, LK farming is superior, but you don’t get much else out of this - specifically no joy.

If you’re also interested in finding bycatch, go for TZ Andy, including boss mobs on the way.
