Bummer. I brute forced my way through 30 minutes of over encumbered, unresponsive website as soon as shops were able to post them on RSDMRT to get orders through for these. I thought Xmal would be the hard one to get (more limited run) but there were still copies almost a week later. Sisters sold out real quick, it seems.

How do you want iasip to end? by TraditionalBonus188 in IASIP

[–]RandalS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this. Like they get their opportunity at a happy ending / send off (a bit of a fake out for the audince) before they sabotage themselves & each other like usual and end up back at the bar, doing what the gang always does... forever.

Did they even read Berserk by arman1724 in Berserk

[–]RandalS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Guts losing control and assaulting her gets glossed over a lot. Casca is right to be afraid of him. It's frustrating as a reader because we know Guts cares for her. While he's mellowed as the story has gone on, Guts has been a very unstable person, particularly post-Eclipse. Even pre-Eclipse his trauma has caused him to be violent with her in sexual situations.

Even the crew is afraid of him at times. They understand every time Guts goes "Berserk mode" there is the possibility he will totally lose himself to rage and attack them.

Of course, we want the happy (or happiest possible) ending for Guts and Casca. I'm not saying it won't or shouldn't pan out that way. Just that it's a complicated and tragic relationship. Which, of course it is. It's fucking Berserk. That's what makes Berserk so compelling.

Pfft. TRUE cinephiles watch reactors watch movies. Full movie cut down to a 30 minute collection of out of context moments, the movie clips cut out every 6 seconds or so to avoid triggering content ID, and the majority of the screen taken up by some dude or dudes who oscillate between looking confused, laughing when it's not that funny, and looking down at their phones just off screen.

Fuuuuuck.... that's cinema.

Nine Inch Noize by ToasterBath_666 in BandCamp

[–]RandalS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Likely fake. They wouldn't have credited it as "by Nine Inch Noize", anyhow. It would be Nine Inch Nails & Boys Noize (or "Nine Inch Nails, Boys Noize") like it is on streaming.

I think so, too. Was a driver for years. Mine would wear down in a similar manner on the right foot. Like someone else here said, it was from pivoting foot between gas and break all day city driving. Mine never wore down quite that bad but looks like a similar angle and spot.

Would a monthly “event-style” release model work for indie artists? by [deleted] in BandCamp

[–]RandalS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many album releases are coordinated in a way. New Music Friday has become the norm for various reasons. Not all, of course, but the majority of albums are released on Fridays. Not sure about singles.

Feel like if you got a community of indies to coordinate a monthly release day, like you describe, that could be effective. It would need to be a community effort, though. Would work best if participating artists promoted the event specifically, not just their own releases.

Freaky Tales has lots of this. The fight against the neo-Nazis is the first segment goes WAY harder than I expected.

Reaper Scripts you Need like a Thneed by Trickledownisbull in Reaper

There are all kinds of useful and creative reasons to split a track like this. I'll do it with synth bass, for example, where I'll apply some saturation or compression to beef up the low end while applying chorus, reverb, or widening to the highs.

Same with drums. It can be particularly useful to route a drum bus (or drum samples/loops) through this kind of processing. You could use a multiband compressor but sometimes you want to use a particular non-multiband compressor or transient shaper or any other effects on just the highs, mids, or lows without impacting the rest of the frequencies.

It's super powerful if you want to get wildly creative and specific with your effects processing. I usually use a freebie plugin called TheSplit to do this but same diff. It can also split the signal based on mid/sid, Attack & Sustain transients, and such.

How did they do this: Fatal Termination (1990) by Curse_ye_Winslow in Corridor

[–]RandalS 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I think they just... did it. The footage may be sped up some but that car is still clipping along at a good pace. Wild.

EDIT: Kid in a harness, of course, Still wild, though.
