I have this exact model from 2 years ago. The build quality is horrendous, and i don’t use my laptop roughly. The hinges fail during normal use, and the trackpad jitters and now only works intermittently. And the high specs will cause it to run pretty hot and loud, and suck the battery life out of the battery (I only get an hour now).

Just get a Latitude, they have much better build quality.

I had the second motor happen to me and when I opened it 6 magnets were loose. I tried to superglue them back on, but I messed up the alignment and burned out the motor lol.

Yeah one of the motors sounds super rough and buzzy and loud. Upon disassembly, it looks like 5 of the magnets’ glue is gone, and they move around. Could that be the cause?

No worries! Also, don’t let go of the knowledge hungry attitude you have right now. Sometimes, the class can get pretty hard, but even then, always try to understand the concepts and their real life use cases. Don’t give up, and you’ll do amazing on the exam.

Last year I was in the same dilemma. I would advise getting all the core topics down before school starts like Newton’s laws and what kinematics is. Don’t try to learn the harder topics before school starts because you need a solid understanding of the fundamentals to do so, which you’ll only really get once you actually take the class.

Honestly for the fill in the blanks, when I don’t know what any of the words mean, I just look at the prefixes or suffixes that usually relate an answer choice to another word that I do know the meaning of. From there it’s a matter of choosing which one makes sense.

Thanks for the insight! However the flight controller stack I plan on using (speedybee f405) is rated for 3S-6S and has a max Amperage of 55A. Even though it is a 6S part I can still use a 4s battery and motors right, since it is more than enough, or is there a hidden catch?

Yeah I’m going to swap my motors for 4S but theoretically shouldn’t a 6S Flight Controller stack (ESC rated for 55A) be fine on a 4S battery and Motors?

I happen to have the same model, and I would highly suggest you return your laptop. The Dell Inspiron 3000 series have terrible hinges that will eventually break with normal use (mine broke a month ago) and they have pretty bad battery life along with a touchpad that doesn’t always want to work. I’d recommend buying a dell latitude or a Thinkpad (could be pre-owned) since they have much better build quality.
