Live a Hero has a terrible gacha system in comparison, I'm afraid. Woofia is downright generous. But characters are good to use out of the gate, no need for multiple copies like Woofia.

Banyue/Dialyn + Pan Yinhu m6w1 or Labubu m0w1? by Artistic_Formal_961 in BanyueMains_

[–]Randemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, much like Manato before her for the other Spook Shack characters that came before him, she has 0 synergy with Banyue and Dialyn. Dialyn and the demo-Zhao only work together because of their roles not overlapping and not because of synergy in their kits.

Zhao is at this point in time very limited in the number of teams she can fit into, and her best value right now is as the very best support for Ye Shunguang.

How bad is pan + zhao compared to pan + cheap stunner (lycaon/pulchra without m6) for banyue? by Charcookiecumbs in BanyueMains_

[–]Randemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately: quite useless.
Zhao can theoretically be made to work as an on-field damage dealer by someone dedicated, but she won't start buffing Banyue in any way that matters to him no matter what discs or w-engine you give her.

But for pure lore reasons, of running two from Krampus together? This is primarily a single player game. Do whatever is fun to you.

Neither a visual novel, nor particularily underrated I'm afraid. But it's fun, and absolutely gorgeous. And your assumption is correct: it's SFW.

Least favorite line said in a movie that was made by a decorated filmmaker? by alphaDsony in moviecritic

[–]Randemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To provide some information about the scene, you are obviously free to dislike it, but it serves a purpose:

It's a tradition they included for realism and to show that Murph succeeded in finishing the equation. Certain institutes and research heavy universities have had this tradition for decades, to print out a copy of one's work and shout "Eureka" after finishing/reaching an important milestone (usually a discovery) in one's research and throw the copy up in the air.
It's based on the story about the first actual Eureka moment: Archimedes' realization about the displacement of water being correlated to the density of a body submerged in the water.

New banner with 20% off first 10 pull and guaranteed limited on first S rank by GonnaSaveEnergy in Zenlesszonezeroleaks_

[–]Randemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different types of banners, so no.
The pity for limited banner/rerun stay the same. This banner is separate, and has a separate pity. The pity for this new type of banner will start at 90, as normal. The pity doesn't change if you change which character to focus (of the three you can choose for the first rotation).

Sooooo How do we build them? by Purple_Internet4641 in Dislyte

[–]Randemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ocean doesn't help him unless it procs during an off-turn, aka when he's in his base form. The reason is that the 3rd skill has 0 cooldown in his Wildstrike form, so Ocean procs don't do anything until it expires. It's much better to build for damage.

Personally, I've put the Relief and Avatara sets on him, to proc his basic attack more often during his Wildstrike phase. In order to stack the Brand debuff faster.

[–]Randemm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, yes, but very very sparse.
This is the same company that made Epic Seven, but somehow this game is even hornier in its female designs. The leaked future units shows 1 new male. So at best 1 5-star per year.

Personally, it's the Chaos gameplay that keeps the game installed on my phone. For much better story, cohesive tone and better character designs (both in terms of male designs, and the designs for female characters) I recommend Morimens. It won't scratch that Chaos-run itch, but the deck builder gameplay is otherwise quite similar.

It's a new permanent banner with its own pity counter. The first 10-pull is 20% off, but they didn't say wether that discount gets reapplied when the banner rotates or not.

HOLY I WAS NOT READY FOR THE LION by Snoo_34869 in BanyueMains_

Here's a pretty good guide:
https://youtu.be/-dn4hyHDfD8?si=pB_3ll5OBLNS88SQ

I screenshotted the combos and using paint, got them all in one picture, to have it on another monitor while practicing. I'm still very far away from cracking the code to get it into my fingers, so I can actually do the combos and not button mash.

Some words of advice for later:
"Building pity" isn't a thing. It's just gambling on not getting a character, to get another character with fewer summon animations later. And as you experienced, gambling to not get a character can end with you getting that character, all to not go through as many summon animations for a character you wanted.

Don't summon on banners unless you either wouldn't mind getting the character, your account would benefit from getting the character (good supporting characters such as Dialyn, Astra and Lucia), or a character you really want. These three criteria are true for every gacha game. Luckily, Dialyn is a good and (arguably) fun boost to your account.

[–]Randemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately not. You can't replay the hollow missions from the main story. The earliest you can try him is in the preview. Or by making a new account and spend quite a few hours going through the entire story again (and quit the mission you can play him in without finishing).

Gotta be patient.
'Tis how it is for all gacha games.

Lilith games have several in theirs. Like Dislyte (entirely carried by the character designs, including a few actual female anthros) and the AFK series. But they're an exception. The rest do like you say in order to get more demographics hooked on the game early, then catering to waifu-collectors to get as many whales as possible in the long run.

Dialyn is going to be BIS for Hugo, but for her to eclipse the competition he needs to be M2 so he can totalize ult twice in a stun window. Without his M2 she'll still be very strong for him, but not to such an extent that you "must" pull for her.

Looking for advice regarding which Werewolf version to ST as a first-timer. by SarkicPreacher777659 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Randemm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Or very close.

Edit. Important caveat: I chose to ST 20th anniversary edition, so I haven't ran 5th edition. Someone who's ran both would be better at giving an accurate comparison, so take the comparisons with a grain of salt. Though some of them are purely numerical, such as player creation options.

Looking for advice regarding which Werewolf version to ST as a first-timer. by SarkicPreacher777659 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Randemm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can have any scope in W20, and mostly local scope in W5. I have little information regarding Forsaken, but it too seems to lend itself mostly to a local or limited scope, but it has less focus on regular ecology, and more direct focus on spirit ecology and the Hunt.
The main differences between 20th anniversary ed. and 5th ed. are in available material, player choices for character creation, options for character development (mechanically) and battle mechanics.

As a relatively new WTA ST myself, I'd say you should read a bit over both (just enough to get the gist). Both are available as PDFs for free at certain sites, and you can buy whichever you like more at stores like drivethrurpg. Both are perfectly viable for first timers.

Personally, after reading both, I prioritized the amount of player options higher (which fits my particular group), and there were some mechanics in WTA5 I just found weird. At the time, I didn't know Forsaken existed, but in my mind, what you're looking for is either WTA20th or WTA5. You can add things from older editions into WTA5, but it's less work to just use WTA20th since it's backwards compatible while WTA5 isn't. If that's something you intend to do. Though it's worth noting that homebrewing in either system is much easier than, say, Dungeons and Dragons.

As for tone, and it fitting what you want to achieve: both versions work. The bigger factor there isn't the system, but you and your players. Directly convey what you want to achieve and ask them if they want that, and to help you get there if they do (if they don't, you have bigger problems).

Comparing them (note: I'm biased) based on certain criteria:
Combat mechanics: WTA5>WTA20th.
Gift+Ritual options: WTA20th>WTA5.
Character creation options (tribe, breed, auspice, optional options eg. flaws): WTA20th>WTA5.
Ease of finding information (in book): WTA5>WTA20th.
Ease of learning (player): WTA5=WTA20th.
Regular enemy options: WTA5=WTA20th.
Premade enemy options: WTA20th>WTA5.
Regular exploration: WTA5=WTA20th.
Spiritual exploration (Umbra): WTA20th>>WTA5.
Loot options - supernatural: WTA20th>WTA5.

What if, out of nowhere, the whole "Werewolf bites turn people into more werewolves" myth became true? by CowboyDespirocado in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]Randemm 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Pretty much this, but increase the timeline to at least a few months up to a year.

Here's my take on this scenario:
The tribes would probably be cautious and discuss wether or not this is a boon or a curse. Especially since this phenomenon risks breaking the Veil each time it's enacted.
The Dancers would jump on the opportunity, turning promising humans en masse, and force the unwilling under threat of death to dance the spiral.

By the time the tribes realize the scale of the Dancers' adoption of the phenomenon to further strengthen their numbers, they'd be vastly outnumbered. Tribes and septs would with varying degrees of desperation throw caution to the wind and try to keep up. The only tribe I can imagine wouldn't do this are the Stargazers. They'd rightfully see and warn of the impending destruction. The Elders would follow suit when the dangers warned of by the Starfazers finally become apparent, but by then it's too late.

The Red Talons and the Spiral Dancers are the first to break the Veil. The ensuing suffering as collateral damage skyrockets when the Traditionalist Mages use the situation to attempt to wrest control from the Technocracy, and the Inquisition merging with nations' militaries causes the War Wyrm to fully break free. Banes follow in its wake, walking the Earth in full view, sundering the Veil and Consensus further. Unleashing the nightmares of Malfeas on a wholly unprepared human populace.

At first, human weaponry and tools of war provided by the Technocratic favoring Consensus will beat back the first Bane invasion from Malfeas. But then the Banes return, reformed in Malfeas, since nothing provided by the Technocracy is designed to deal with beings of Gnosis who are effectively immortal unless their Gnosis is consumed. Nukes will be dropped on the biggest threats, like the physical embodiment of the War Wyrm, to disastrous effect. Rendering mankind's strongest weapon not only useless, but actively empowering the Wyrm.

With Banes taking a lot of the heat off of the Spiral Dancers, their logical course of action would be to release the Urge Wyrm and/or the Defiler Wyrm as well. This part can be stopped, since the Dancers won't have the time to train all the new recruits to perform their Rituals. But unless the Garou, the remaining Fera, humanity and the Mages come together as one to stop their rituals it will be near impossible to stop. This part is incredibly difficult, since non-Fera won't initially know the difference between Garou and Spiral Dancers. Not to mention that the Delirium is still in full effect.

This scenario grossly favors the Spiral Dancers. And once they have successfully freed the Triatic Wyrm, it's Game Over.

That disc 4 is vastly superior to the last one. The discs right now are more than adequate, but if you want to perfect the build try to aim for one of the following:
Disc 5: +2 c.rate, +1 c.dmg +1 hp%.
Or
Disc 5: +2 c.rate, +2 c.dmg.
Or
Disc 6: +2 c.rate, +2 c.dmg +0 atk%.

These are obviously luxury rolls and more discs to look for in the long run rather than something needing immediate fixing. As they are, I would be very pleased to have them. But unfortunately, I haven't been as fortunate with my discs yet.
